00:00 Julianne Hough and her ex-husband Brooks Lyke have reunited for a happy occasion.
00:06 The former spouses were all smiles at the wedding of Julianne's brother Derek Hough
00:10 and fellow dancer Hayley Erbert over the weekend.
00:12 In fact, the two played an important role.
00:16 They were both part of the newlyweds' wedding party.
00:19 Brooks was one of Derek's six groomsmen and Julianne was one of Hayley's six bridesmaids.
00:25 The former couple's reunion comes a year and a half after they finalized their divorce.
00:29 The Dancing with the Stars co-judge and hockey player tied the knot in 2017 and announced
00:33 their split in 2020.
00:36 But there appears to be no hard feelings as the two had front-row seats when Derek and
00:40 Hayley said "I do."
00:42 The sweet pair wed in Monterey County, California on Saturday and exchanged vows in front of
00:47 106 of their closest friends and family members, according to People Mag.
00:52 The two, who have been together since 2015, announced their engagement back in June 2022.
00:57 A few months later, in October 2022, the Dancing with the Stars judge stopped by AXS Daily
01:03 and talked about his wedding plans.
01:05 "Please welcome our friend, the three-time Emmy winner and six-time Dancing with the
01:09 Stars champ, Derek Hough is in studio!"
01:12 "We were saying before we went on, this seems like we're going back to old school Dancing
01:18 with the Stars."
01:19 "Yeah, it really does.
01:20 It feels nostalgic.
01:21 Just the tone, the warmth, the heart of the show feels like it's back.
01:25 It really does.
01:26 And I think, you know, not having commercial breaks now that it's on Disney+ is a lot of
01:30 fun.
01:31 It's just like non-stop action.
01:33 And having Alfonso is fantastic as the co-host.
01:38 It just feels great.
01:39 It really does."
01:40 "So wasn't that much of a difference in the transition other than no commercials, would
01:43 you say?
01:44 Or what would you say has been the biggest change?"
01:45 "Well, I think just a different intention, you know, coming into the show, you know,
01:51 being this season.
01:52 It just feels like just following the stories a little bit more of the celebrities.
01:58 And also what I love about the season as well is that you have the heartfelt stories like
02:01 Selma.
02:02 You know, you have Jordan Sparks, who is just so charismatic and amazing.
02:06 Wayne Brady.
02:07 And, yeah, yeah, Wayne Brady.
02:12 And then of course, Charli D'Amelio and her mom.
02:15 It's just such an eclectic group of people.
02:18 And it just makes for a great show, you know?"
02:20 "It's funny, because Selma Blair has stole everybody's hearts on this.
02:23 I cannot get enough of watching her.
02:25 Tell everybody how she was cast on this."
02:27 "Well, this is what I heard.
02:28 So this is what I heard.
02:30 I heard, so Sasha actually had a partner who ended up pulling out.
02:33 And he was going to be in a troupe, but he's neighbors with Selma.
02:36 And I think he walked over to her house, knocked on the door, and was like, 'Hey, do you want
02:40 to be my partner on Dancing With the Stars?'"
02:42 "She said, 'Yeah!'"
02:43 "And it was just kind of like one of those moments."
02:44 "And you get a lot of extra practice in."
02:46 "I know, but it's really cool.
02:49 What's amazing is, you know, just to see what she's able to do.
02:53 And that's what's so beautiful about dance.
02:55 Dance is really a beautiful way to sort of unlock certain potential within us that we
02:58 didn't know we had.
03:00 And we're seeing that with her.
03:01 This is extraordinary."
03:02 "Is it true that we're getting a Michael Bublé night?"
03:04 "Yes."
03:05 "Michael Bublé night.
03:06 It's happening.
03:08 My man Bubbles, the Bubles.
03:09 I was just talking with him right now and working on the track for that, for the coming
03:14 up.
03:15 But yeah, I directed his music video earlier this year.
03:18 We've become really good friends.
03:19 And I just said, 'Hey, we need to have a Michael Bublé night.
03:21 Are you down?'
03:22 And he's like, 'Yeah.'
03:23 So we're having it.
03:24 He's going to be guest judging.
03:25 He's going to be performing.
03:26 It's going to be a lot of fun.
03:27 We're going to get into trouble though, because we're kind of the same person and we're just
03:31 going to be talking nonstop."
03:32 "I can't wait for that.
03:35 Your Vegas residency, incredible.
03:37 What did you love about it?
03:38 Is it hard to step away for a minute?"
03:40 "No, we are so excited that we accomplished that.
03:44 77 shows as a residency in Las Vegas at the Venetian Hotel.
03:50 Actually you know what?
03:51 I'm going to be streaming it live.
03:52 So people who weren't able to come see the show are going to be able to stream it and
03:54 watch it.
03:56 But it was very, I feel very fulfilled and we did it.
03:59 We did it."
04:00 "Well, for the last show, there we are.
04:02 There's that jump over there.
04:03 Did you clear those people?"
04:04 "Did you land it?
04:05 Evel Knievel?"
04:06 "Let me tell you, that was like, was it seven or eight ladies?"
04:10 "And who volunteered to be the last lady?
04:12 Because if you didn't clear that, she was getting away with a dome right now."
04:14 "I'm not going to lie.
04:15 What you don't see in that moment is when I jump, I think I jumped, I'm like this.
04:18 And at the very end, I definitely did one of these moments.
04:23 And barely clipped her, I think I touched her head."
04:26 "And this is live on the show.
04:29 That's one that you got to hit that."
04:30 "That's awesome, man."
04:31 "I love how you connect with your audience.
04:32 You were always going out after the show to meet everybody.
04:35 Had you planned on that before?
04:36 I feel like it became a tradition with you."
04:38 "Well, you know, when you go on tour, you always go out the stage door and say hi to
04:41 fans and say hi to people.
04:43 And when I did the show before, last year, it was during the Delta variant and Omnicron
04:48 and all that, and we weren't able to sort of see anybody in the audience afterwards.
04:52 So this time around, I made it a point to go say hi to everybody.
04:55 And I appreciate them.
04:57 I really do.
04:58 I never take it for granted, this beautiful gift I've been given to be able to perform
05:02 and to share that with others.
05:04 And it's awesome.
05:05 I just, I'm so thankful for it."
05:07 "Good for you, man."
05:08 "I want to share that love with them."
05:09 "There you go.
05:10 I'm sure they really appreciate it too.
05:11 And congrats, by the way.
05:12 I know you're engaged."
05:13 "Yes!"
05:14 "No, you don't get a ring yet, Flay."
05:15 "I don't get a ring yet.
05:16 I always do that.
05:17 I'm like, 'Wait, I don't have one yet.'"
05:18 "Wait, is that the engagement photo?"
05:19 "Yeah, that's in our living room."
05:20 "What?"
05:21 "Is that when she said yes?"
05:22 "Yeah, I... yeah."
05:23 "Wait, that's not your living room."
05:24 "That was my living room, yeah."
05:25 "How many roses?"
05:26 "Wait, talk about the proposal.
05:27 You went next level right there."
05:28 "Yeah."
05:29 "Dang, that's a production, Derek!"
05:30 "That looks like Game of Thrones!"
05:31 "What's going on there?"
05:32 "No, that's actually just how it is all the time."
05:33 "That's a Tuesday."
05:34 "Yeah, no, I actually took her out on this helicopter ride for like eight hours to get
05:45 her out of the house so they could set everything up.
05:47 And we went to Yosemite, flew over Yosemite, which is a special place for us.
05:51 And you can see she's wearing this green jacket.
05:54 And I was like, 'You sure you want to wear that today, babe?'
05:58 But it was really special."
05:59 "So she walked in in the crib and it was like that."
06:01 "That was it.
06:02 But it was very, very special.
06:03 We're planning the wedding right now, you know, getting everything sorted out where
06:06 we want to do it."
06:07 "You're going to do a banger?
06:08 You're going to be a kid?"
06:09 "Well, speaking of Michael Bublé, he said he would perform."
06:10 "That's player right there.
06:11 Well, now you said it on TV, so he's got to come through."
06:14 "By the way, I've said it several times on TV because he's doing it."
06:17 "You have a montage now you can send to him and stuff.
06:19 That's really great."
06:20 "No, I'm thinking for you guys."
06:21 "It might be a Zoom call, but it's going to be —"
06:22 "Do the Zoom."
06:23 "How do you plan your first dance?
06:25 I mean, you guys are both dancers.
06:26 Like, you've got to beyond deliver.
06:28 Like, this has to be, like, the dance of all dances."
06:31 "You know, it's funny because originally I was like, 'Hey, listen, we perform, we dance
06:34 enough.
06:35 You all perform for us.
06:36 I want to see it.'"
06:37 "Yeah, that's what I was thinking, yeah."
06:38 "But, you know, I feel like we've got to do something.
06:41 We've got to do something.
06:42 So I'm sure we'll bust out a little dance.
06:44 But for the most part, I expect full performances from all my friends and family and Michael
06:49 Bublé."
06:50 "Reception's going to be lit.
06:51 I like it right there."
06:52 "Yeah, it's going to be fun."
06:53 "Are you involved in all the planning?
06:54 Are you letting her kind of do all this?"
06:56 "I will be involved.
06:58 Not necessarily, like, I just, I don't know.
07:00 I love the creative aspect of things.
07:01 So, you know, I'll definitely be involved.
07:03 But, you know, I want her to --"
07:04 "As a married man, let me tell you, let her quarterback that team right there.
07:08 You'll be good to go."
07:09 "I'm happy with that.
07:10 I'm happy with that."
07:11 "That's old-stage advice."
07:12 "We are so happy for you with everything going on in your life."
07:14 "Thank you, thank you so much."
07:15 "Always good to see you."
07:16 "Congrats.
07:17 Listen, you can stream new episodes of Dancing with the Stars live every Monday on Disney
07:23 Plus."
07:24 "Thank you."
07:33 (upbeat music)
