00:00 Paulina Porizkova believes aging gracefully is the way to go.
00:04 The 58-year-old supermodel took to her Instagram on August 21st
00:09 to share a video of herself with light makeup versus no makeup,
00:12 plus an honest message about aging.
00:15 Penning in the caption, "This is a 58-year-old face
00:18 without fillers, Botox, or surgery in good light
00:22 with professional gorgeous makeup by Ivana Tokarska.
00:26 And here's the same face without makeup.
00:29 I've had lasers, ult therapy, and Morpheus,
00:32 and used SPF religiously since my early 20s.
00:35 I've chosen not to put anything into my face.
00:38 But even with the fanciest creams and lasers
00:40 that promise to restore some collagen, I am aging."
00:44 Paulina went on to admit that seeing her aging face
00:46 is easier some days than others, but she still
00:49 maintains an open mind, adding, "Some days I like it.
00:53 I feel like my face has gained character,
00:55 even as it's lost its youthful prettiness.
00:58 And it seems a fair trade-off.
00:59 Other days-- and this is mostly only if I do a photo shoot--
01:03 I have to gulp some self-acceptance.
01:05 I have changed.
01:06 Fortunately, this change also means being wiser and bolder.
01:11 So I keep gulping self-acceptance.
01:13 Outside, I have changed.
01:15 I'm told by society for the worse.
01:17 Inside, I have also changed.
01:20 I'm told by those who matter for the better.
01:22 When I close my eyes, I never felt so desirable or beautiful.
01:26 When I open them, the world has never been
01:28 as beautiful as it is now.
01:30 So another gulp of self-acceptance.
01:32 Maybe one day I can just look and see myself
01:35 as I see others."
01:37 The "Note Filter," the good, the bad, and the beautiful author,
01:40 concluded by thanking her partner, television writer
01:43 and producer Jeff Greenstein, for helping
01:46 her embrace her aging looks.
01:48 "I won't skip over the obvious, that there
01:50 is a love in my life who finds me beautiful
01:52 and tells me so with words and actions every day.
01:55 And this is really the only one I need to hear.
01:58 But I was on the same path before meeting him.
02:01 I wanted to be able to accept myself as I am
02:04 and needed to know that those who love me,
02:06 love me for the truth of who I am,
02:08 rather than who I pretend to be or who I'm expected to be."
02:12 Paulina is very open with her fans and followers
02:14 about her skin and how she keeps up that natural glow.
02:18 On August 29th, she posted her entire skincare routine
02:21 to her Instagram and shared all her tips and tricks
02:24 for keeping her face fresh as the years go by.
02:28 "So I'm frequently asked about my skincare routine.
02:30 And so I will share it with you.
02:32 And it's actually really basic and pretty simple.
02:37 The only two things that really make a difference in your skin
02:39 are SPF in the morning and then retinol at night.
02:44 Those are the only things that actually affect your skin.
02:47 One is to prevent skin discoloration and wrinkles,
02:52 some wrinkles.
02:53 And the other to smooth it out ever so slightly.
02:58 So what I do in the morning, I don't wash my face
03:03 because my face did not get dirty overnight.
03:06 And also water dries and I have dry skin.
03:08 So the first thing I do in the morning
03:10 is if my skin does feel a little tight from the night sleeping,
03:17 I have just discovered this new stuff, Jones Road.
03:20 And I love this.
03:21 This is called the Hippie Stick.
03:23 And I will just put it on.
03:26 And it's kind of slightly--
03:28 it's like an oily feel, which is great for dry, mature skin
03:38 like mine.
03:40 And then I just rub it in.
03:41 There.
03:46 And then my skin is pretty ready to do whatever I want it to.
03:53 So what I do next is SPF.
03:55 Now, this is something that I learned early on when
03:58 I was in my 20s from working with Estee Lauder.
04:02 And they're scientists.
04:03 When I asked, what is the new--
04:06 do you have any new miracle things in creams
04:09 that I ought to be aware of?
04:10 And they said, yeah, SPF.
04:12 Do yourself a favor.
04:13 Start using it now.
04:14 So I did.
04:16 And I've been using it fairly religiously ever since.
04:20 The one that I really love is this one right now.
04:22 This one is Trish McEvoy.
04:24 And it's a moisturizer and SPF in one.
04:28 It's SPF 30.
04:29 And it's called a Beauty Booster Cream.
04:33 I don't know if it boosts beauty.
04:35 But maybe in the long run, it does.
04:37 I don't know.
04:38 But in any case, I love it because makeup
04:39 goes really well over it.
04:41 Or it goes on white and slightly--
04:48 it has a slight glow to it.
04:51 So it makes your skin glow, which is nice.
04:55 Because why not?
04:57 And that's it.
04:58 Then I will put on makeup if I need it,
05:01 if I'm trying to look extra presentable.
05:04 But that's a different video.
05:06 Then we'll get to--
05:08 oh, no, my other favorite SPF.
05:11 If I don't need the extra cream and I
05:14 want a little bit of coverage, I've
05:16 just discovered this stuff, which I love,
05:18 which is Color Science.
05:19 And this one is called the Sunforgettable Total
05:22 Protection Face Shield.
05:24 Complicated name.
05:25 Flex.
05:26 And this one is kind of cool because it goes on white.
05:32 But when you put it on your skin--
05:35 check this out--
05:36 goes on white.
05:39 And then it takes on your skin tone like magic.
05:43 And it's almost like a beauty--
05:52 it's like a moisturizing tint.
05:57 So it has slight coverage in it.
06:01 And love this stuff.
06:02 I can just put this on and feel like my skin
06:06 looks a tiny bit smoother.
06:07 And it's protected from the sun.
06:10 So that is it for the day.
06:12 Then I don't have a lot of stuff on.
06:16 For night.
06:17 OK, another new discovery that I love
06:21 is this Jones Road makeup removing stick.
06:28 Now, talk about fantastic for travel.
06:31 And also, it feels oily on the skin.
06:36 And it's kind of awesome because it goes on really easily,
06:40 especially with the heat from your skin.
06:44 And then you just rub it in.
06:45 And it kind of feels like cold cream, which is my other go-to.
06:49 Would just be good old Pond's cold cream
06:52 to get all the makeup off.
06:53 Since I'm not wearing any right now,
06:55 there's not much to come off.
06:57 But I rub it off with a tissue.
07:04 And then when I get into the shower,
07:10 I will put my face in the water.
07:12 And I will use a facial cleanser that
07:17 happens to be standing in my shower at the moment.
07:20 Something not too drying.
07:21 Right now, I really like this Beauty Pie Super Healthy Skin.
07:25 See, I like it so much that I don't have any left.
07:29 And so that's it.
07:30 And then at night, before I go to sleep, retinol.
07:36 This one is a really, really great one.
07:38 This is a Peter Thomas Roth Retinol Fusion PM Night Serum.
07:43 Now, this goes on like water.
07:46 And so it's better applied with a cotton wad.
07:50 But I don't happen to have any.
07:51 So I'm going to put it on with my fingertips.
07:54 See, it kind of goes on like water.
07:57 And it goes on really nicely.
07:58 It just feels like creamy water.
08:02 And so I put this all over my face and go to sleep.
08:12 That's it.
08:13 Unless my skin is feeling a bit on the dry side, which
08:16 it does if I have been in the sun
08:19 or if it's dead of the winter, in which case,
08:22 I will put a moisturizer over it.
08:25 And again, new discovery, Joan Frode.
08:28 This one is called Miracle Cream.
08:30 And this one I kind of keep on the side for anything, really.
08:34 Like, again, if I'm wearing makeup,
08:36 the hippie stick is not so great because it
08:38 will take the makeup off.
08:40 And if I just need to put a little tiny bit over my makeup
08:43 because my skin's getting dry, this one is very creamy.
08:49 And also practically gone.
08:52 And it goes on very, very creamy.
08:54 And it's quite thick.
08:55 And it's lovely for older, dry skin.
08:59 It actually feels a little bit--
09:00 like, when you put it on, it feels a bit like creme de la
09:02 mer.
09:03 It has a similar texture that it goes on, like, really thick
09:07 and very moisturizing.
09:09 And then that's it.
09:13 And then I wake up and repeat.
09:15 There you have it.
