Transcript
00:00 Jeremy, welcome to the club. How does it feel to join Manchester City?
00:05 I'm very happy to be here. It's a big, big, big club. A massive club. So I'm very excited and I can't wait to start.
00:14 Of course, you already know Kevin De Bruyne from your time with Belgium. Have you had any conversations with him?
00:22 Yes, I know him. He's now our captain also. As soon as he heard about the rumours, he directly sent me a message and gave me some info if I had questions.
00:34 Obviously, now he's injured, so he sent me a message and told me that if I have any questions and if I need him for anything, he's there. So I was happy to hear that.
00:49 How nice is it for you to have someone already at the club that you know?
00:53 Very nice. It makes it easier for me. I've already heard that everyone in the group is good. Of course, it makes it easier for me to go into the group.
01:06 How does it feel to know the prospect of playing under Pep Guardiola?
01:12 Like I said, I'm very excited because with a top coach, I can only be a better player. I want to know what he can learn me to be a better player.
01:24 Like Kevin, Pep is also injured now. I wish him a speedy recovery and I can't wait to see him.
01:34 What would you say are your best qualities as a footballer?
01:39 As a footballer, I'm quick, I'm strong, I like to dribble, technique. Those are my abilities that I like to rely on.
01:58 What do you think you can bring to the current squad here at City?
02:04 I think the way I dribble, my speed. Those are things that I can add to the group. Of course, the group is already a top group with a lot of top players.
02:17 But I think I can add that to the group. My dribbling skills, my speed and my creativity. Those are the things that I can add.
02:28 How are you feeling about playing in the Premier League?
02:33 I'm very excited. The Premier League is a league that I always watched with my dad and my brother before on Sunday evening, match of the day.
02:44 I think it's a league that suits me so it will be a perfect match.
02:51 Has it been an aspiration of yours to always play in the Premier League?
02:57 I always knew that the Premier League was made and built for me. I played in Belgium, I played in France and I think those were the right steps to prepare me for the Premier League.
03:14 How ready do you feel now to be playing in England?
03:22 How ready? I can't tell you now that I'm ready but I will have to see. I'm really confident and I have a lot of confidence in myself.
03:33 I think with the help of the coaches and staff and the team, we'll be doing good.
03:41 You've experienced the Champions League with your previous club. How excited are you to be playing in the competition once again this season?
03:50 I remember when I was with Rennes in the Champions League when I just came. I was an 18-year-old guy and the song before the game was on TV and I really liked it.
04:03 It was our first experience with Rennes but now in this club, I think last year they won it so we have more chance to win the trophy and it brings more excitement so I'm ready to play.
04:18 As you just said, you'll be joining the current champions of Europe and the treble winners. How does that make you feel?
04:26 When you win three trophies or more in one year, you have a lot of pressure. I think the pressure is on the team and now I'm going to be part of the team so there will also be a lot of pressure on me.
04:39 I like pressure so it will be good. People will not be afraid but they will give their best because we are not a team to beat and I think that's a good thing.
04:55 You've made a number of appearances for Belgium. How has the international stage helped you for this move to City?
05:04 It's good because when you're on the international stage, you also learn to play with big players and big names and that helped me also. I came to the national team when I was 18-years-old and now I've already played in the Euros and the World Cup so it's a good experience for me to continue in my career.
05:25 What was the experience of both the Euros and the World Cup like for you?
05:31 It was a very nice experience, especially the Euros because I played more. The last game against Italy, we lost but I started the game in an important game that we had to win against a big team and I played a good game. Obviously it worked out well for me after that. It was a very important game in my career.
05:55 You've played alongside and under Vincent Kompany at Anderlecht. What was that like for you to play under and with a City legend? What did you learn from him?
06:06 Playing with Vincent was very cool. I had a good relationship with Vincent. I remember he gave me one assist so I'm grateful for that. Even if he came to us at nearly the end of his career, you could still see the abilities he had in City.
06:32 He's a top, top player so I learned a lot from him. I like to play against him. He was defending against me because even if he had nothing to prove, he would always give his best and give 100%. Tactically, he taught me a lot to develop my game.
06:51 What are your goals for the upcoming season and throughout your time with City? What would you like to achieve?
06:59 My goals are to fit well in the team and win more trophies. I don't have any trophies yet but I'm sure that with this team we can win a lot of trophies. That's my goal.
07:15 Jeremy, congratulations once again on the move and welcome to the club.
07:19 Thank you very much.
