00:00 CEO of Lufthansa Airlines Jens Ritter took on a unique task recently that left him amazed.

00:09 He decided to go undercover as a flight attendant to experience first-hand what it is like to

00:15 be a part of the cabin crew.

00:17 In a post he shared on LinkedIn just last week, Ritter shared the details of his journey

00:21 and experience on the Lufthansa Airlines flight heading to Riyadh and Bahrain.

00:26 He flew with the cabin crew team as an additional crew member.

00:29 In his post, Ritter mentioned that this experience was eye-opening and revealed the significant

00:34 challenges that the crew members deal with on every flight.

00:38 Ritter shared that he was amazed by the amount of organization needed before as well as during

00:43 the journey, especially if something did not go as planned, for example, the meals offered

00:48 on the menu cards were not exactly the meals that were loaded on board.

00:52 Ritter also shared photographs of himself serving passengers and posing with the flight

00:56 crew.

00:58 He also observed that every passenger on board had a different mood and different kind

01:02 of energy and it was quite a task to keep up with all of them and make sure that they

01:07 had a smooth journey and delightful experience.

01:10 He served the passengers in business class on the way to Riyadh and worked in economy

01:14 class during the night on his way back to Frankfurt.

01:18 Although he had prior experience as a pilot, the unique demands of being a cabin crew member

01:22 were an entirely different experience for him.

01:25 He shared that he was under the assumption that he knew about the challenges a night

01:29 flight entails as he used to fly as a pilot, but to be present and attentive and charming

01:34 when the biological clock just tells you to sleep was something entirely different, he

01:38 added.

01:39 Ritter also said that his future decisions in the office would be influenced by this

01:43 newfound experience as a cabin crew.

01:45 He was also amazed at how much he had learnt during those few hours and thanked the incredible

01:50 crew, the delightful passengers and everyone involved for making this exceptional experience

01:55 possible.

01:56 Ritter's experience of stepping into the shoes of his cabin crew members is not an

02:00 isolated case for airline executives.
