01:02 When a shop goes up, find someone, hit, box.
01:07 Or hit, go get it.
01:09 Because what we're doing, if you haven't got the contract, you can't feel them, they're getting everything.
01:14 So we've got to box down.
01:16 You've worked all year for this. You've worked your guts out for this.
01:19 So let's take care of it now for 15 seconds.
01:21 One, two, three, go.
01:23 [cheering]
01:37 [cheering]
02:05 [cheering]
02:08 And we're in number 10, the Bluebird Club.
02:11 [cheering]
02:18 Great to be joined on Lasmas Land once again by our two-time Big Bear Division 1 Women's Championship coach, Lee.
02:25 Back-to-back years, how does it feel?
02:27 Oh, that sounds real good. Two-time winning coach. Yeah, no, fantastic.
02:31 Like, you know, what a crowd. What a crowd here, but turned out by the Warrnambool community and the Warrnambool basketball community.
02:39 Hard-working committee we've got.
02:41 And then these magnificent mermaids that I've been fortunate enough to coach for the last couple of years.
02:45 So, yeah, I couldn't be a prouder man than what I am right now, Matt.
02:49 You've mentored these girls for a number of years now.
02:52 To finish on a high like that, obviously your last game as head coach, for now we'll say, in case you're back one day.
02:57 But how does it feel knowing that these girls, they'll experience a championship win with you in your final game?
03:03 Yeah, look, fantastic. As I said on Thursday night with you, you know, I coached Louise in under 12s.
03:10 I coached Amy Wormald as a young player too.
03:14 So she's, yeah, there's your two veterans in the group, if you like to say.
03:18 The rest of them I've, you know, I've been with for the last couple of years, probably three years.
03:23 So, yeah, they're special to me, them under 18 kids.
03:27 They've made me feel younger than what probably I am sometimes.
03:31 I try to get different things for them to make them better.
03:36 And, you know, the world's their oyster in regards to basketball.
03:41 They can go on and play at different levels.
03:44 And there's a couple of them who've got college aspirations.
03:48 Dakota could easily go there. Dakota's going to probably play WNBL, there's no doubt about that.
03:52 She's just something special.
03:55 So, yeah, look, really, really happy.
03:57 So proud of the group and proud of, you know, what we've been able to achieve over the last couple of years.
04:03 So touch on the game.
04:05 Murray, I'm sorry, started a little bit slow, but mention a couple of big performances tonight.
04:09 Obviously, Dakota to go to Brighton finals, MVP.
04:11 Louise Brown, come on and steady the ship.
04:13 Look, Louise Brown, she's one in a million, if you like to say.
04:18 As I said, I've had her. She's just amazing.
04:22 Really, she's amazing for someone to know the point, roll, position and play it the way she does.
04:28 And she's been able to do it for years and years and years and still be able to do it and control the whole game.
04:34 And I like she controlled that game when she was on the floor.
04:37 You know, like she's a star.
04:39 We all know that here in Warrnambool.
04:41 Her knowledge of the game is second to none.
04:44 She's been a coach.
04:45 She's a two time winning Mermaids coach.
04:48 And then, you know, I've been fortunate enough to have her on the floor at the end of the last two championships.
04:53 And, you know, it's somebody who I've had since she was 10 years old.
04:57 So to do that, I'm wrapped.
05:00 Yeah. Well, Lee, congratulations.
05:02 Back to back championships.
05:04 What a way to go out.
05:05 And we thank you for joining us again on Laz's Lens.
05:07 No worries.
05:08 Thanks, Mac.
