00:38 Sharad Pawar was because BJP and PM Modi had a condition with Ajit Pawar to get Uncle Sharad
00:46 Pawar into the NDF fold if he wanted to achieve his dream of becoming Maharashtra's Chief
00:53 Minister.
00:54 BJP has got apprehensive ahead of the Lok Sabha elections next year.
01:01 Even after splitting two parties, it was not satisfied so it wants to include the NCP chief
01:08 in its fold.
01:09 They know that he is one of the tallest leaders across the country with a big mass appeal.
01:16 Therefore, they badly need his support for the victory, the Congress leader said.
01:22 Hitting out at the Congress leader, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, "Some
01:28 people that is the opposition are saying that both deputy chief ministers are eyeing the
01:34 chief minister's chair.
01:35 Yes, we are eyeing the chief minister's chair with the intent to protect Eknath Shinde,
01:42 so that no one should dare to look at that chair with evil eyes.
01:47 If you do, then both the deputy chief ministers will not spare you," Mr. Fadnavis said.
01:54 However, this is also true that time and again there are reports of cold war between Ajit
01:59 Pawar and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
02:03 And Ajit Pawar has time and again expressed his desire to be the Chief Minister of the

02:09 Also, just days after the rebellion, NCP leaders Ajit Pawar, Sunil Tatkare and Prapal Patel,
02:16 after a meeting with Sharath Pawar, NCP leader Prapal Patel had then said they requested
02:22 Sharath Pawar to keep the NCP united but did not get any response from the NCP chief.

02:50 But the point remains that there is some kind of an understanding.
02:55 There is some kind of a give and take proposal that has been struck by Modi and Sharath Pawar.
03:04 This is what my feeling is.
03:05 I have been saying this for the last four months that there has been some kind of an
03:09 understanding between Sharath Pawar and Modi.
03:12 And the entire split in Maharashtra, entire way the NCP has been split in Maharashtra,
03:20 it looks that it has been, it is some kind of a rehearsed show.
03:26 It doesn't look natural.
03:27 It doesn't look spontaneous.
03:29 And there are a lot of questions.
03:30 There are more questions than answers as far as the split is concerned.
03:34 Now the fact remains that Ajit Pawar was supposed to be the Chief Minister in Maharashtra.
03:41 Day one it looked like that for the simple reason that the way Shinde was sidelined,
03:47 the way things happened there and of course a lot of leaders, lot of senior leaders from
03:53 Congress and also a lot of senior leaders from NCP, though they didn't want to be named,
03:58 had told us that the deal was that Ajit Pawar will be made the Chief Minister.
04:03 Now Ajit Pawar is still not made the Chief Minister.
04:06 Mind you, between all of this, Shinde also had gone to meet Narendra Modi and Amit Shah
04:14 in their residences in Delhi.
04:16 So this also happened.
04:17 So why did Shinde go there?
04:19 And why was Shinde seen as being shunted, being sidelined?
04:29 Why was he seen that way?
04:30 These are questions that arises.
04:32 That said, coming back to your question, the answer to your question in my mind is that
04:36 I don't know whether Narendra Modi has asked Sharath Pawar to be bought into BJP or I don't
04:45 know whether Narendra Modi would find it more beneficial for him to ensure that Sharath
04:50 Pawar still stays with the MVA.
04:53 This is what I would say.

05:37 From that day till date, Maharashtra politics has been in turmoil.

05:44 The ambitions of politicians, the people who are suffering are the normal citizens of Maharashtra.
05:50 So the fact remains that after that, we never saw a stable government.
05:54 That is 2019 November.
05:56 From 2019 November, we have never seen a stable government in Maharashtra.
06:00 Every second day when MVA was ruling, every second day there was a rumor that MVA government
06:05 will be pulled down.
06:06 And actually so it was pulled down in 2022.
06:09 And then started the next round wherein now people say that the Shinde government will
06:14 be pulled down and then Ajit Pawar government will be formed.
06:18 So the fact remains that Maharashtra politics and Maharashtra government went through its
06:24 worst when after the democracy was crushed by first Uddhav Thackeray, then by Eknash
06:35 Shinde and then by Ajit Pawar, by jumping parties, by taking away MLAs.
06:42 This is the unfortunate part of Maharashtra.
