A look around the Countess of Chester Hospital neonatal unit where Lucy Letby worked

Footage shows the hospital where Lucy Letby, the nurse found guilty of murdering seven babies and trying to murder six others, worked.  As part of the trial at Manchester Crown Court, the jury were shown a “walk through” video of the neonatal unit at the Countess of Chester Hospital as it was when Letby, 33, worked there.  The nurse from Hereford worked at the unit after qualifying as a children’s nurse at the University of Chester in 2011, according to an interview with the Chester and District Standard newspaper.

00:00 This is the neonatal unit at the County of Chester, September 2021. Things have changed

00:17 a lot as we've moved into our new neonatal unit, but I will show you the rooms. This

00:25 used to be nursery 1, also coined the hot room. This is where the sickest patients were

00:32 brought. Typically this room would have had four incubators, so any baby who was intubated

00:44 or needing CPAP support would be brought into this room. They wouldn't typically leave this

00:51 room until they were more stable. This is the area where the drugs were kept. As you

00:58 can see, they're all in lock cupboards, empty now. This is the controlled drug cupboard.

01:17 3, again a similar room to nursery 2. As the babies became older and more stable, they
