00:56 The ballpen is at 10 pesos from the previous 8 pesos. Bendivel explained that the supply is too high for them because some vendors here did not sell school supplies.
01:08 The discussion is that the notebook case is at 3,200 pesos last year, but now the case is at 5,000 pesos.
01:19 Meanwhile, there is no change in the price of school uniforms here in Baclaran. The polo is at 150 to 250 pesos depending on the size.
01:27 The pants and pants are at 150 to 280 pesos. The sandong puti is at 80 pesos to 150 pesos and the socks can be bought for 50 pesos for three pairs.

01:40 Thank you very much, Diomera Presto of Superadio DCW.
01:45 The wall part of the Cason City Hall compound collapsed. One person was killed while three were injured.
01:53 Here is the latest news of James Agustin.
01:55 The Bureau of Fire Protection of BFP and QCDRMO is working hard to save the trapped construction worker after the wall part of Civic Center Building B collapsed
02:10 in the compound of Cason City Hall last night. The victim was taken to the hospital but was brought back to life.
02:17 Three other construction workers were injured.
02:20 The four were in the immediate area of the collapse. Before the collapse, one of them ran. Unfortunately, he was hit by the falling wall.
02:33 In an investigation by the Cason City Police District or QCPD, a scenic elevator in Naturan, Gusali was under construction that started on June 9.
02:43 In the course of the construction, there's a need for them to dig beside an unsupported wall.
02:51 In the course of this digging, this wall collapsed.
03:01 As of now, our building official is investigating the contractor because there are contractors there.
03:06 They are reviewing their procedures for workplace safety.
03:11 The collapse of the wall was also reported as the contractor's responsibility.
03:16 In an interview, the Cason City Government investigated the incident in their engineering department.
03:22 The contractor's system is considered as occupational safety.
03:28 The local government's priority is to give medical attention to the injured workers.
03:34 The contractor is trying to get the contractor's name in the incident.
03:38 James Agustin is the reporter for Jema Integrated News.
03:42 The Putatan Water Treatment Plant will shut down twice this year.
03:48 This August, it will be closed from 21 to 22.
03:52 The customers of Manila, in some parts of Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Paranaque and Pasay City are affected.
03:58 Also, Bacoor, Imus, Noveleta, Rosario and Cavite City in Cavite are affected.
04:03 For the list of barangays, just visit the Facebook page of Manila.
04:07 The next shutdown will be in September, while the plant will be shut down for maintenance and repair activities.
04:16 Because of the storm and the price of oil, the price of fish also increased.
04:22 The lack of supply is also an additional problem.
04:25 This is the news of Bernadette Reyes.
04:31 It's rare, but this kind of situation does not happen every once in a while in the town of San Caterbang Isda.
04:37 It's really a blessing because it's full of people.
04:42 But even outside of these kinds of situations, the Philippines is rich in fish.
04:47 Especially, the Philippines is surrounded by a wide ocean.
04:50 That's why it's considered unfortunate that the country is still not self-sufficient in fish.
04:55 When compared to demand, the country's supply of fish is showing a lack of more than 165,000 metric tons this year.
05:03 To fill the lack, 35,000 metric tons of fish will be imported from October 1 to December 31,
05:10 in addition to the 442,000 metric tons that are being raised for canned fish.
05:16 The BFAR said that the closed fishing season or ban on fishing in some places in the country should be implemented.
05:23 Even if our fishing is this wide, we need to make it sustainable so that we can ensure that our fish stocks in the ocean have a chance to multiply.
05:35 But our long-term goal is to be self-sufficient.
05:39 The BFAR also responded to a statement by a group that it does not need to raise fish if not 40% of the fish caught by the Filipinos are not wasted.
05:48 The lack of fish is not a problem. It's not just the lack of post-harvest facility, but also the handling.
05:56 For example, our fish that go to the ocean has no ice.
06:02 When they come here, if you put them in a post-harvest facility, the quality will increase.
06:08 It is the directive of our President to have more cold storage facilities for the opportunity that we have a lot of fish caught. We have means to pack them.
06:19 The supply of fish is the reason why the price in the market is higher.
06:24 According to the Department of Agriculture, each kilo of fish reaches up to Php 240 per family in Metro Manila, while the price of tilapia is up to Php 160.
06:35 Here in Marikina Public Market, there are stalls that sell tilapia for Php 170 per kilo.
06:42 The supply of fish is low. It's hard to find fish.
06:47 If there's no fresh fish, we will just choose frozen fish.
06:52 Aside from the effects of the storm on the supply, the oil price hike also has an effect on the price.
06:57 Bernadette Reyes reporting for GMA Integrated News.
07:02 Next, 180 pigs were killed on an island in Magsaysay, Palawan last week.
07:10 The Provincial Veterinary Office examined the samples from the dead pigs in the island barangay of Kokoro to confirm if they died of African swine fever.
07:20 Now, the release of the living pigs and their meat is prohibited on the island while waiting for the results of the examination.
07:29 Dear viewers, selling dog meat is prohibited.
07:33 In Bawan, Batangas, the sale of dog meat is prohibited.
07:36 A dog meat vendor in Barangay Poblacion 3 was caught.
07:40 Some of his stalls are still in operation.
07:43 According to CIDG Batangas, the suspect has been in the market for a month for selling dog meat.
07:49 According to Animal Kingdom Foundation, they received a tip about the sale of dog meat.
07:54 The suspect will face a series of complaints that he admitted that it is prohibited to sell it.
08:00 Authorities are also investigating the source of the suspect's dog meat.
08:05 In the middle of the high price of rice, how about the price of the pig's tail?
08:10 In Kalasyao, Pangasinan, the sale of pig's tail is affected because of the high price of rice.
08:14 According to some businessmen, they reduced the production of pig's tail.
08:18 That's why their income is affected.
08:20 They have vendors who are forgiving the price of pig's tail.
08:23 They are losing money because of this.
08:25 That's why Kalasyao Pig's Tail Producers and Vendors Association said that they might raise the price.
08:31 Aside from the high price of rice, which is the main ingredient of pig's tail, sugar is also expensive.
08:36 The pig's tail vendors are asking for the price of rice to be lowered.
08:40 For now, the price of pig's tail varies from Php 120 to Php 130 per kilo.
08:49 Michael Cataroja, who was found alive and dead in Angono Rizal,
08:53 is the missing inmate of the first suspected body that was found from the septic tank in Bilibid.
08:57 It is now being investigated how he was able to escape the police without any difficulty.
09:02 This is the news of Ba Malegre.
09:04 In this dark and dangerous place in Barangay San Isidro, Angono Rizal,
09:10 the police found the person who is hiding, deprived of liberty or PDL, Michael Cataroja.
09:16 Michael Cataroja, we arrested you.
09:19 Cataroja was eating when the police arrived and he did not escape from the arrest.
09:24 Cataroja is the inmate who was found missing after the headcount in Bilibid on July 15.
09:29 But based on the information from the Bureau of Corrections,
09:32 Cataroja was found missing possibly from July 7.
09:34 He is facing a carnapping case.
09:36 Authorities are investigating that he is hiding in his parents' house.
09:40 Cataroja is alive.
09:42 His body was found missing.
09:44 His bones and bones were found in the septic tank in Bilibid.
09:48 Cataroja is being questioned in the media in Camp Vicente Lim in Calamba, Laguna.
09:52 Earlier this evening, it was being reported that Cataroja was barely able to escape from the arrest.
09:57 He just casually went out of the septic tank in Bilibid.
10:00 He followed the visitors and he was able to reach the gate pass.
10:09 He was able to reach it with his ball pen.
10:11 The Bureau of Corrections thanked the PNP for helping Cataroja.
10:15 But they will find out how Cataroja was able to escape from the arrest of the guards in Bilibid.
10:21 The Bureau of Corrections will also look into the CCTV footage.
10:24 We still do not know if he was able to escape on a particular day.
10:30 Although we did already review the CCTV footage, but so far we have not been able to find any.
10:39 Cataroja did not give an explanation.
10:41 Bam Alegre reporting for GMA Integrated News.
10:46 It's Friday, Beshy!
10:54 Here's the starbites before the weekend.
10:58 International fashion and style icon and queen of creative collaborations,
11:04 Heart Evangelista, is still a certified fan.
11:06 Heart has signed a management contract with Sparkle GMA Artist Center.
11:11 The first one to sign the contract was GMA Senior Vice President,
11:15 Attorney Anette Gozon Valdez,
11:17 Sparkle Vice President Joy Marcelo,
11:19 Senior Assistant Vice President for Alternative Productions, Gigi Santiago Lara.
11:24 The mister, Senator Cheese Escudero, and Sparkle Consultant and Star Maker, Johnny Manahan,
11:29 is also present in Heart's contract signing.
11:33 In Heart's next signing, fans are asking if she will be able to watch TV soon?
11:38 I think I enjoyed playing different characters in the telenovela and movies.
11:45 But I really enjoy playing myself these days.
11:49 And because of that, I hope that I can work on something which I'm already starting.
11:53 I'm also excited because there are a lot of scripts that are being shown to me.
11:57 So we will see.
12:00 Ladies and gentlemen, turn up!
12:03 For the first time, the film singer-rapper, Ezekiel Miller, or EZ Mill,
12:06 is entering the Billboard Charts.
12:10 His single, "Realest", is at the Rap Digital Song Sales and R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales Charts.
12:17 And at the All-Genre Digital Song Sales Charts.
12:22 It's only two weeks after the release of the single.
12:25 EZ and American rapper, Eminem, are collaborating on this.
12:29 If you can remember, EZ signed with music labels last month.
12:34 That's Eminem and Dr. Dre's "Shady Records" and Aftermath Entertainment.
12:39 The analysis of six expensive cellphones in a shop in Iloilo City was last.
12:45 The CCTV footage shows a man wearing black to assist a sales lady.
12:50 The next thing that came in were two men.
12:52 One man tried to open the stand while wearing a hat.
12:56 But the vendor noticed it.
12:58 The other two men didn't go in.
13:01 The men who were wearing grey went in.
13:04 The men who were wearing white went in.
13:07 The suspects' faces are worth 300,000.
13:11 The authorities are still looking for them.
13:14 Last week, a working student was reported missing
13:21 after his mother ate his money.
13:23 In Milaor, Camarines Sur, the same thing happened in a shop.
13:27 Almost nothing was left of the 1,000 pesos worth of paper he hid in his cabinet.
13:33 He said it was for his shop.
13:36 The shop was in a big mess because of the incident.
13:39 The old versions of paper were made from plant materials like avocado and cotton.
13:44 According to experts, some of it was from the mother's eating.
13:48 The money that the mother ate was called "mutilated banknotes" by the Central Bank of the Philippines.
13:54 According to the BSP, the 3S must be monitored to exchange your money.
14:00 That's the size, signature, and security thread.
14:03 There must be 60% left of the money, size or size of the money.
14:07 There must also be any remaining part of the signature of the President of the Philippines or the BSP Governor.
14:13 The security thread must still be visible in the lost money.
14:17 The money was easily lost to the authorized bank.
14:20 The bank will bring it to the BSP for an investigation.
14:23 If the lost money can be used for the requirements,
14:25 the BSP will deposit it in the bank's account, the appropriate amount,
14:29 so that it can be returned to the owner.
14:31 Update on the Sinalaulang Resort in Calamba, Laguna.
14:37 The last ones who spread and were there were already in the resort's owner's arreglo.
14:42 According to the Calamba Police, they have not received any complaints.
14:45 The police also said that some men were removed from work in the incident after they made a viral video.
14:52 The resort is back to normal operations.
14:55 The swimming pool is now clean.
14:57 The chairs, trash, and bottles were washed this Monday.
15:00 The water dispenser was also replaced after it was broken.
15:03 It was also dropped in the swimming pool.
15:05 The resort's owners turned to the camera.
15:08 But they said that they are more strict in choosing guests.
15:13 [upbeat music]
15:22 We already know that the time will be set for the long holiday weekend
15:26 from Katrina Son of GMA Integrated News Weather Center.
15:30 Katrina.
15:31 Thank you, Susan.
15:33 To all the partners who are planning your long weekend getaway,
15:37 of course, include the time setting in your plans.
15:42 Based on the rainfall forecast of Metro Weather,
15:45 the chances of rain will be higher in some parts of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Minanau
15:51 tomorrow, on Sunday, and on the upcoming Monday, Ninoy Aquino Day.
15:56 The places that were said to be raining more will be in the afternoon.
15:59 Heavy to intense rains are possible, so stay alert in the event of a flood or landslide.
16:05 The rain will be heavy in some parts of Metro Manila for the next three days.
16:11 In the next few hours, the entire country will be inundated.
16:15 Heavy to intense rains are possible in some places.
16:18 Despite the rain, the heat will still be high today.
16:22 According to the forecast, the heat index in Apari and Tuguegarao, Cagayan,
16:26 will reach 44 degrees Celsius.
16:28 While 43 degrees Celsius in Alabat, Quezon, Calapan, Oriental Mindoro, and Virac, Catanduanes.
16:36 Here in Metro Manila, the heat index is possible to rise to 40 degrees Celsius today.
16:42 According to the forecast, the Batanes is affected by a trough or extension of a low-pressure area.
16:49 The winds are also strong in Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao,
16:54 while local thunderstorms are in other parts of the country.
16:58 In Zamboanga City, almost 500 families were affected in the Shumna Barangay.
17:05 The road was flooded, so motorists should be careful when crossing.
17:11 According to the City's Social Welfare and Development Office,
17:14 no one was injured or injured in the flood.
17:17 The water came from a flooded river that was damaged by riprap.
17:21 It overflowed due to the rain that was caused by the strong winds.
17:25 Because the storm doesn't have a fixed time,
17:31 a group of students came up with an invention that can help in the rescue operations.
17:37 Here is my report.
17:39 The scary aspect of the storm is that it just feels like it's going to happen.
17:50 So survival is the first goal.
17:52 The group of students from the Information and Communication Technology High School of San Fernando, Pampanga
18:03 can help a lot.
18:05 They used an earthquake sensory device, the SafeQuake.
18:09 When it vibrates, the buzzer will sound.
18:18 It can detect the intensity of the vibration.
18:21 It can also be connected to any smartphone
18:24 where you can put your contact number and other details.
18:28 It will alarm the user or the emergency contact number.
18:33 At the same time, it is also a rescue beacon
18:35 because it sends the rescue effort to the victims of earthquakes.
18:38 Through the antenna, the device can send signal messages to local government units.
18:47 There is a red button that you can press if you are in danger.
18:51 There is a blue button to let you know that you are safe.
18:54 Once the user is alerted, they are given a minute and 30 seconds
18:58 to confirm that they are safe using the blue button.
19:01 If they are not confirmed safe,
19:03 the device will automatically send an emergency message to local government units.
19:08 To make it more effective,
19:11 the SafeQuake device must be placed on the wall or in a place where it cannot move.
19:16 Hopefully, it will help not only in the Philippines but also internationally.
19:22 This year is March when they started building it.
19:25 The group is hoping that every LGU will have a SafeQuake device.
19:30 Because of this innovation,
19:32 students from different countries and countries of the world have committed to it.
19:37 Keep on researching.
19:39 In whatever state you are in, you can easily find and invent products.
19:44 [music]
19:47 Really?
19:50 There are rumors that a woman in America died because she drank too much water.
19:59 Is it true that drinking too much water can cause death?
20:04 According to her brother,
20:05 she was in a pond in Indiana for a whole weekend.
20:09 When she felt dehydrated, she drank almost 2 liters of water in 20 minutes.
20:17 The amount of water she drank was recommended for a whole day
20:22 by a 19-year-old woman.
20:25 But because she drank too much water,
20:27 she might have experienced water intoxication.
20:31 Water intoxication is like the reduction of sodium in a person's body.
20:38 A person's body has sodium,
20:41 or let's say, salt in our body.
20:44 There's salt and water.
20:46 Once you mix them, the salt will dissolve.
20:50 And then, of course, the water will become diluted.
20:53 That's why we need these salts to hold water in our body.
20:59 The other effect of water intoxication,
21:02 find out on PINOY MD tomorrow at 6 in the morning on GMA.
21:08 Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte
21:12 will once again present the new curriculum
21:14 for an event in Davao City.
21:16 We have on the spot,
21:17 Argyle Relator of GMA Regional TV 1 Mindanao.
21:21 Argyle.
21:22 Susan, on the visit of the Education Secretary and Vice President Sara Duterte
21:31 to the opening of the Philippine Book Festival here in Davao City,
21:34 she gave the importance of reading books
21:38 so that Filipino learners can improve their ability to read and write.
21:44 On behalf of the Education Secretary and Vice President Sara Duterte,
21:49 the guest of honor and speaker
21:51 of the Philippine Book Festival in Davao City this morning
21:54 organized by the National Book Development Board,
21:57 DND VP Sara gave the importance of the Philippine Book Festival
22:00 to the learning ability of Filipino learners.
22:03 Vice President Duterte added that in the past years,
22:06 the ability of Filipino learners to read and write has been low.
22:11 That's why in launching a solid curriculum
22:13 that is a revised and improved version of the K-12 program or K-10 program,
22:18 it aims to correct the lack of the previous program
22:21 that had a big impact on young people to read and write.
22:26 DND is working hard to provide accurate, responsive,
22:29 and culturally relevant reading materials
22:32 that can also change the lives of learners.
22:34 Here is what Vice President Duterte said.
22:37 Our direction is not only for our learners to possess the power of writing and reading,
22:45 but most importantly for them to value this power
22:49 as it could help them navigate life successfully.
22:54 [indistinct chatter]
23:09 Susan, Vice President Duterte said that after the launch of the solid curriculum,
23:14 the Department of Education will now consult
23:18 with publishers for books to distribute to children.
23:22 Thank you very much.
23:24 Thank you very much, our GILT Relator of GMI Regional TV 1, Mindanao.
23:29 As a step towards the self-sustainability of prisons,
23:33 the Department of Agriculture and several private partners
23:36 have shared their use for planting PDLs.
23:38 From Palawan, we have live on the spot, Sally Marefran.
23:42 Sam?
23:43 The Bureau of Corrections has just started its RISE Project
23:49 or Reformation Initiative for Sustainable Environment for Food Security
23:53 here in Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
23:57 The program will be assisted by the Department of Agriculture
24:00 and several private partners, PDLs, who bought, sold, and used
24:05 and helped in farming and agriculture.
24:07 PDLs will plant and grow high-value crops,
24:11 as well as raise animals and fish here in the extra-hectare land of Iwahig.
24:17 According to the Deputy Bureau Director General Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr.,
24:20 this is for the self-sustainability of prisons.
24:23 If the PDLs can raise P70 per day,
24:28 it is better to plant our own food, the penal farms of the country.
24:34 If the production increases, even in prisons,
24:37 it will benefit the members of society, the PDLs.
24:42 This is a big impact on the food security of the country.
24:45 PDLs have been planting and raising animals here in Iwahig for a long time.
24:50 This is also a popular activity in other prisons and in the country.
24:54 Meanwhile, 500 PDLs are expected to be transferred here in Iwahig from Belibid this month.
25:00 This May, 500 PDLs were also brought here from Belibid and Correctional Institution for Women.
25:06 This will continue for the decongestation of prison facilities in Metro Manila.
25:12 PDLs are almost 3,000 here in Iwahig.
25:15 But in the majority of prisons, they can still receive PDLs.
25:20 Meanwhile, the Board of Inquiry of the Pew Corps has formed to investigate the escape of Michael Cataroja
25:28 and if Pew Corps has any involvement.
25:31 In one investigation, it was found that Cataroja was involved in the kidnapping of a visitor.
25:37 Here is the latest news from Puerto Princesa, Palawan. Rafi.
25:42 Thank you very much. Salima Refran.
25:45 "Till death do us part"
25:48 This is the promise of those who are getting married in Pangasinan.
25:51 Their family is chasing that wedding vow.
25:54 One of the couples who got married in Lima after an accident.
25:58 The hot news was brought to you by Russell Simorio of GMA Regional TV 1, North Central Luzon.
26:04 "I love you, Dad."
26:06 Tears were shed on the wedding day of Bernard Demesa Jr., 22, and Michaela Parel, 20.
26:15 The couple got married after their motorcycle was hit by a car on Barangay Pilar, Santa Maria, Pangasinan on July 30, the same day of Bernard's death.
26:27 The wedding ceremony was full of emotions.
26:30 The sweet love of Bernard and Michaela was witnessed.
26:34 They were brought together till death.
26:37 The couple got married on the day of their burial.
26:40 "You are the witness that they are now married."
26:44 Bernard and Michaela have been in love for 4 years before the accident.
26:50 Even then, their son felt the love they were about to give.
26:55 That's why the couple's family did not hesitate to fulfill their dream of getting married even in their last moments.
27:03 "The couple is not separating since they are together. They are all travel buddies. Singapore, Bolinao, all."
27:12 But according to a priest, the church does not recognize the wedding of the deceased.
27:18 "The wedding is not for the deceased, but for the living.
27:22 The wedding is for the content of each one. They will ask for it."
27:27 "At least, they are being honored in heaven.
27:31 We know that they are their destiny. We know that they are forever. We know that they are. This is what they want."
27:41 From GMA Regional TV 1 North Central Luzon, Rassel Simorio is the reporter for GMA Integrated News.
27:50 Let's update on the fall of a structure while being demolished in Quezon City Hall.
27:56 We have a witness on the spot, Jonathan Andal. Jonathan?
27:59 Susan, this is the one behind me, the one that is being covered by the lawn.
28:06 That's where the wall was attached while being demolished by construction workers.
28:12 It will be made into a scenic elevator until there, at the top.
28:16 So, what happened there, Susan, while the wall was being demolished from below,
28:21 because they started it, it suddenly slid down and fell, and four workers were injured.
28:29 One was killed, three were injured.
28:32 This happened last night here in Civic Building B inside the compound of Quezon City Hall.
28:38 According to City Engineer Atty. Dale Peral, their investigation is already rolling on this accident.
28:44 The contractor has lapses in this project.
28:47 The contractor said that the possible damage was done by OSH or Occupational Safety and Health Standards.
28:54 The LGU will also know if the workers are wearing PPE or Personal Protective Equipment,
29:00 if there is safety equipment, and if the contractor's safety officers were there when the accident happened.
29:07 The contractor said that the administrative or criminal case could be filed,
29:11 and that the case could also be removed from the license.
29:14 Even now, the LGU's contract with the contractor is still in effect.
29:18 The construction cannot be stopped here because the people around will be exposed to hazards.
29:24 For now, the construction was blocked by iron outside,
29:28 and the building was covered by cordon so that the path cannot be passed.
29:33 The engineer assured that the structural integrity of the building was not affected.
29:39 The architectural aspect of the building is just the wall and not the structural member of the building.
29:45 Susan, there is a CCTV that was pointed at the scene of the accident.
29:49 We are still trying to get a copy of that from the LGU.
29:53 We are still trying to get the contractor's license.
29:57 The LGU said that they will provide assistance to the victims of this accident.
30:03 Thank you very much, Jonathan Andal.
