A Tracked Gun, 311 Hp, Vehicle Weight 570 Kg, 0-96 Km Acceleration 2.7 Seconds, New BAC Mono 2024
The new BAC Mono has a new 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine with 311 hp.
The first cars at Monterey Car Week are arriving busy and fast, and the latest vehicle to be unveiled is the new BAC Mono. While it's excused to think that the new Mono looks exactly the same as what has been in production since then, it has undergone extensive updates and improvements while maintaining the same beloved, lightweight, single-seat philosophy.
Driving the new-age BAC Mono is a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine that reaches 8,000 rpm and pumps out 311 hp and 231 lb-ft (313 Nm). That means the new Mono has less power than the older model, which rocks 332 hp with a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, and also has less power than the 342 hp provided by the Mono R's naturally aspirated 2.5-liter Mountune engine. .
The small British firm says the engine for the 2024 model includes forged connecting rods and pistons, performance-oriented camshafts and upgraded valve springs, an improved induction system with separate throttle bodies, and a new carbon fiber airbox and aero-optimized carbon fiber intake. The four cylinders are coupled to a six-speed sequential gearbox with configurable gear ratios that drives the rear wheels.
All of the Mono's body panels are made of graphene-infused carbon fiber, resulting in a total weight of just 570 kg (1,257 lbs). This gives the vehicle a power-to-weight ratio of 546 hp per ton and enables it to accelerate to 96 km/h in just 2.7 seconds.
BAC equipped the car with two-way adjustable racing shock absorbers on all four corners, as well as a twin wishbone system activated by an adjustable pushrod. Owners will be able to purchase the new Mono with exclusive Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires developed specifically for him.
Production of the new BAC Mono has already begun and the first sample will be delivered this weekend after The Quail, A Motorsport Gathering.
