00:00Mitsubishi Motors Europe premieres its new Outlander PHEV, the flagship vehicle leading
00:05the firm's European resurgence.
00:07Mitsubishi Motors Europe premieres the new Outlander PHEV DSUV, specifically developed
00:13for Europe, the next stage in the company's product offensive.
00:17Power train.
00:18The system combines an efficient four-cylinder petrol engine, two high-power motors, and
00:23a larger lithium-ion battery pack linked to a shift-by-wire transmission to increase output
00:28over the previous generation vehicle by around 40 percent.
00:31While the drive battery now has a total capacity of 22.7 kilowatt-hour, meaning the new model
00:37can keep driving in EV mode and avoid starting the engine even longer.
00:41According to the official WLTP test, EV-only mode delivers a range of up to 86 kilometers.
00:48The front-mounted electric motor produces 85 kilowatts per 255 newton-meters, while
00:53the rear unit delivers 100 kilowatts per 195 newton-meters but housed in a smaller
00:59volume thanks to an integrated motor control unit, simplifying the powertrain's packaging.
01:04While the base elements of the combustion engine remain similar to that found in the
01:08previous generation, 2,360 cubic centimeters, 16-valve and DOHC, the development team have
01:15introduced exhaust gas recirculation, expanded cooling channels and an integrated exhaust
01:20manifold integrated to boost fuel efficiency and performance.
01:24The 100 kilowatts per 203 newton-meters unit works seamlessly with the electrified components
01:29to deliver an unbroken dynamic experience.
01:32With a combined output of 225 kilowatts or what is the same, 302 HP, and an increase
01:39in the capacity of the fuel tank to 53 liters has expanded the total possible range when
01:44combining EV driving with hybrid driving.
01:47Based on the official test cycle fuel efficiency of 0.8 liters slash 100 km, emissions of
01:5318 g slash km and 19 g slash km of CO2 for 18-inch and 20-alloy wheels respectively and
02:00a total range of 844 km star.
02:02Asterisk tentative figure.
02:05Performance from the new Outlander FEV's powertrain enriches the driving experience, while making
02:10the vehicle even more practical in everyday situations.
02:13The increased output means 0 to 100 km per hour acceleration is now far swifter at 7.9
02:20seconds, for easier motorway merging for example.
