00:00 Hi, it's okay.
00:02 She was cowering under the table, shaking, just so scared.
00:06 Inch by inch, she would let me get a little bit closer and closer.
00:11 Hi.
00:14 Before she would let us touch her.
00:28 Oh boy.
00:30 She would run up and smell me and then run away.
00:36 She let me pet her a couple times.
00:42 I would put the leash on, then I would take it off when I realized she would get very scared and shooken up.
00:57 Put it on, take it off, put it on, and take it off.
00:59 Then eventually I put it on and she kind of gave me this look like, "Okay, where are we going?"
01:06 And that's when I knew it was time.
01:08 On the way out, she was sniffing and pulling. I could tell she had a lot of anxiety and energy bottled up.
01:16 I thought she was going to be a nervous wreck the whole way home.
01:19 Before the trunk was even open, she jumped right in.
01:23 Oh, nice work.
01:26 She's super sweet, but she's extremely timid. This is her first time coming up to me like this right now.
01:33 It's okay.
01:36 You're going to have so much fun, I promise.
01:38 Oh, look at her!
01:44 Bring it last!
01:50 I knew this wasn't the safest thing in the world, but she was just dying to be next to me and I couldn't move her.
01:55 I just can't believe she's even doing this with how timid she just was. This is awesome.
02:00 I was so excited, I kept telling her, "The dogs can't wait to meet you!"
02:06 And I knew the pack would help her come out of her shell.
02:08 She didn't even go home for a little while.
02:15 Her tail is up.
02:18 And I could tell she would go back to not trusting me fully for a little bit.
02:22 My biggest fear was her running away.
02:24 I wanted her to feel as calm and as safe as possible.
02:30 So I started off with all the little ones, the chihuahuas and my dachshund.
02:35 Look, it's Molly.
02:37 That's Molly. That's Butters.
02:40 And then kind of went up by size.
02:43 Yeah?
02:44 She was doing very well. She was a little bit hesitant.
02:51 See, I protect her. I want her to know that she's safe.
02:58 While also giving them love.
03:01 You don't want to do what it is, don't you?
03:11 Look at that. Look at that. I can't believe that worked.
03:14 Alright, so that could not have gone any better.
03:19 So now we're going to introduce her to the entire pack.
03:22 Is this right in?
03:32 Come on, guys.
03:37 Are you a happy girl? You're a happy, happy girl.
03:41 You're a happy, happy girl.
03:43 I could see in her face like, oh my goodness.
03:47 She said, this is where I am right now. She couldn't believe her life.
03:51 She was just so happy.
03:54 By her bringing me that stick, she wanted me to be proud of her.
04:00 She was so free playing with all the sticks and running around.
04:06 It was in her element. This was the place that she was born to be.
04:10 Going across the trails and exploring through the river.
04:14 I don't think she's ever seen water before. I'll never forget it.
04:18 So beautiful, man. Just to see her. Look at her.
04:23 Yeah, you. Yeah, you.
04:32 Yeah, you.
04:33 Beautiful. Just to see where she was, so scared.
04:39 What you doing, crazy kids? What are you doing over here?
04:54 Takamai didn't get a call to the party.
04:57 [dog barking]
05:01 Just such a happy dog. She is the most grateful dog every day.
05:07 And I love her so much.
05:09 [music]
