00:00 I'm here to tell you that the organization is still not safe for boys and girls.

00:06 I'm not going to sit here and be quiet while I know kids are still at risk in scouting.

00:11 Soon after the scouts were founded in 1908, the scouts realized they had a problem.

00:18 They created what they called the Red Flag List, or perversion files.

00:22 These files were so sensitive that the Boy Scouts did everything they could to make sure

00:26 that they could not be seen by parents, by police, even by other scout leaders.

00:32 So the instinctual move was to just make sure they buried it.

00:37 They see that this is potentially problematic for them and their reputation.

00:42 The Boy Scouts of America did not abuse these kids.

00:47 We had some bad people that got in.

00:50 There's no way to profile them ahead of time and to identify people ahead of time.

00:54 Like, that's bull.

00:56 One of the things that they had in their marketing messaging is the Boy Scouts has a rigorous

01:00 application and screening process.

01:02 And that's not true. It has never been true.

01:05 This is a human rights movement for children against one of the biggest offenders in the world.

01:12 The Boy Scouts concluded that they were going to get inundated with claims.

01:17 I was amazed at how big that number got.

01:20 82,000 victims, which is just my blood.

01:24 The Boy Scouts knew historically about the problem.

01:30 The length that certain people were going to to try and get you to shut up got me the angriest.

01:34 What I'm hoping is that no child will ever be hurt again the way I was.

01:39 But what happened to me just took something away.

01:47 There was a lot of red flags that should have been caught.

01:50 If anybody ought to be carrying shame, it's Boy Scouts of America.

01:55 I don't care if I bring the whole temple down.
