Smoke Monday talks about his progression and learnings in his second year with the Saints.

00:04 watch the guys prepare for games and see how these older guys go through the week

00:10 knowing, take care of their bodies, also staying in the playbook.

00:16 So it was a lot of things that they taught me throughout last year.

00:20 >> How close were you to that pick today?

00:22 >> I was close, I'm close to Andy, I'm definitely close to Andy.

00:25 >> And then just, you had the one yesterday, almost had the one today.

00:27 Just kind of what is your mentality, like you're just trying to create some

00:31 opportunities or?

00:32 >> Man, I'm just glad to be back.

00:34 To be honest, man, I've been out, ain't played football in a while.

00:38 So just to be back out here and compete with these guys, it's a blessing for me.

00:42 >> Have you been able to kind of do what you wanted to do and

00:45 show them what you wanna show so far at this point?

00:47 >> I definitely think I have, definitely think I have shown what kind of player I

00:51 am, and just continue to go out and get better every day.

00:56 That's the main thing.

00:58 >> So what is your relationship with the banners, like Marcus and

01:02 Tyron, as far as working with them and learning new tricks and training?

01:07 >> I feel like I got a pretty good relationship with those guys.

01:10 They keep it to me straight, make sure I'm on top of everything.

01:15 Like I say, they always give me tips on things.

01:18 And when guys like that in the room, you always feel like you got a chance

01:23 to work with them and get better, so I just continue to pick their brains and

01:27 make sure they help me out.

01:30 >> I know the safety positions are fairly interchangeable, but

01:33 is there one you've installed more at, that's stronger for you?

01:37 >> Man, I just go out and play, to be honest, man.

01:40 Whichever position my coach put me at, that's what I'm gonna go,

01:44 try to dominate and try to play my style of ball.

01:46 >> So you've done both, and obviously a lot of the time.

01:49 >> Mm-hm.

01:50 >> That. >> Yeah.

01:51 >> So how about as far as us going to special teams?

01:56 I know that being emphasized, but your future as a gunner or

02:01 just talk about that year-round maybe, depending on them.

02:04 >> Yeah, I mean, I know Coach Reed's got me in a lot of positions right now.

02:07 I'm playing a little teepee, playing a little left wing.

02:10 So as many positions you can play on a special team, that's a win.

02:15 So whatever they need me to do, I'm gonna go out and do it to my best ability.
