Cities Around the World , With the Highest , Weed Consumption .
In 2022, the global cannabis market
was valued at $47.32 billion,
according to Fortune Business Insights. .
The industry is projected to
grow to $444.34 billion by 2030. .
Insider Monkey reports that these are
some of the cities around the world with
the highest levels of weed consumption. .
In the United States, between 12-20% of people admit to smoking
weed at least once in the past year, which makes the U.S. one
of the countries with the highest consumption per capita.
Denver, Colorado, consumes a total of 6.8 metric tons of marijuana every year, despite a 22% decline
in weed sales between 2021 and 2022. .
Adelaide, Australia, also consumed a total of
6.8 metric tons of cannabis a year, despite only
being legal in South Australia with a prescription. .
Despite also being illegal for recreational
purposes in Dublin, Ireland, the country still ranks
among the highest for weed consumption in Europe. .
According to a 2021 survey by Eurobarometer,
approximately 17% of people in Ireland
use products containing marijunana.
By the end of 2023, adults in Hamburg, Germany,
will be legally allowed to grow and consume
recreational cannabis privately or through members' clubs.
In Tokyo, Japan, CBD has been legal since 2013 and has become increasingly popular, with experts estimating that
the industry could reach $800 million annually by 2024.
