00:00 >> How much progress has Ty Day this price made from last year to this year?
00:02 >> It's night, it's unreal right now.
00:05 Last year, he looked good early, he looked good when we didn't have the pads on.
00:10 And all of a sudden, as we started playing games,
00:11 different things happened during the course of the year, it just wasn't as good.
00:14 He right now looks like a man on a mission.
00:16 He's fun to watch.
00:17 He is a boy.
00:18 And you see all the things we saw when we drafted him.
00:21 He just gets to the open field, he's a load, he's fast.
00:23 He's seen things better.
00:24 He understands the offense better.
00:27 Everything about him, like all these guys, first or second year,
00:30 you can hear your rookie year.
00:31 And sometimes, your head starts spinning, it doesn't stop until the season's over.
00:35 And Ty's been that kid that, man, everything's kind of coming together for
00:38 me. He looks like a different guy.
00:40 He's playing very, very well.
00:41 It's fun to watch.
00:43 >> Seemed like it just shot out of a cannon on a draw,
00:45 I think you ran into him the other day.
00:46 But he's heavier this year, but I guess he's cut fat, so he's probably leaner.
00:51 >> Yeah, it's the whole thing is these guys in college, I always say I don't know
00:55 much about college football, but I know here everything becomes a factor when you
00:58 get to this building.
00:59 But from a nutrition strength coach, you see other guys, right?
01:02 You don't know, and then all of a sudden you watch Christian McCaffrey train, and
01:05 you watch Juice, what he does.
01:06 You say, if I just do a little bit of this, and Spencer comes in to see how Trent
01:10 takes care of himself, and you're like, and that's what happens.
01:12 And all of a sudden, your body changes, you get stronger,
01:15 you become more explosive.
01:16 You may lose weight, but gain more explosion because of what they do in
01:19 the weight room with our guys.
01:20 And everything we do trains towards what that person needs and
01:23 where he needs to, what he needs fixed, how we can make him more explosive.
01:27 And so our staff here, I mean, they do such a good job.
01:30 And then, like I said, the confidence that he has.
01:32 He understands now what he's reading on the draw.
01:34 He's not guessing.
01:35 He knows he sees it and he gets it.
01:37 >> Has there been a concerted effort over the past couple years?
01:39 I know the coaching staff works closely here with the personnel department, but
01:43 the get backs that are a little bit bigger, also obviously still fast.
01:47 But given the fact that it seems that defenses around the league are getting
01:50 smaller.
01:51 >> Yeah, I think we just evaluate the player and then that is,
01:55 it's not a non factor at all.
01:57 But it's like, I mean, let's first look at the skill set.
02:00 If the guy's a good runner, okay, there's a bigger guy, smaller guy,
02:03 then that has to win at some point.
02:04 But it's not like a concerted effort, we need a bigger guy doing this stuff.
02:07 >> All right, thanks coach.
02:09 >> Thank you.
