A Majority of Republicans Still Dispute Biden's 2020 Election Win
  • 9 months ago
A recent CNN poll reveals that 69% of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents believe President Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory was not legitimate, a rise from 63% earlier in the year. This belief has increased despite a lack of evidence supporting election fraud that could have affected the outcome. The survey was conducted before the indictment of former President Donald Trump over attempts to overturn the 2020 election. Of the Republican-aligned adults, 39% think there is substantial evidence proving the election was illegitimate, while 30% simply suspect that Biden did not win fairly. 61% of Americans believe Biden won the election legitimately, while 38% disagree. Among those who voted for Trump in 2020, 75% doubt Biden’s legitimacy.
