00:07 In the press conference, the newest logo of the Philippine National Games and Batang Pinoy 2023 will be held in December.
00:16 Daryl O. Clarence is back.
00:20 As part of the preparations for the Philippine National Games and Batang Pinoy 2023, the Philippine Sports Commission showed the newest logo of the two national youth sports tournaments that will be held from December 17 to 22.
00:34 According to PSC Chairman Richard Bachman, the logo will be changed from June to June for the commission to give international feeling to the athletes in their participation in the PNG and Batang Pinoy.
00:47 We do have Batang Pinoy and PNG end of the year, December.
00:56 And I want to give these athletes, these kids, it is a local tournament but I want to give them an international feel.
01:05 The Office of the Chairman, Chief of Staff, Dean Dino Ortega explained the elements used to make the two logos of the simultaneous national competitions.
01:17 The PNG is stuck out in the flames and of course the three stars of the flag is like, you know, the amber when it's lit.
01:25 And of course, the one in December will be the seventh Philippine National Games so hence the torch is in the form of the number seven.
01:35 So as we go on with the coming years for the new versions of the PNG, the torch, the number seven will change but the PNG will remain as the flame.
01:45 So if you notice, we follow the Hawaiian which is part of the original logo as the torch and in the flames is of course the Philippine flag colors and the Batang Pinoy with the three stars and with the sun as the O and the Y as the seed bead.
02:03 We call it Batang Pinoy because originally one of the purpose of Batang Pinoy is for grass roots.
02:11 So the sun shining in the seed beads for them to become top tier athletes.
02:19 In total, 20 sports will be played by the young athletes aged 17 and below for the Batang Pinoy while 18 years old and above for the PNG.
