Former U.S. president Donald Trump indicted for cases on alleged involvement in trying to obstruct certification of then President-elect Joe Biden

00:11 and four counts for his major role in trying to obstruct the certification of then president-elect

00:17 Joe Biden into the presidency.

00:19 A federal grand jury, after hearing and seeing months of testimonies and evidence presented

00:24 by special counsel Jack Smith, approved to officially charge the former president on four counts,

00:30 to include conspiracy to defraud the government, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding,

00:36 obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights.

00:43 Oddly enough, special counsel and prosecutor Jack Smith did not charge Trump with a conspiracy

00:47 to sedition or insurrection because of complications in proving them.

00:52 Condition Smith listed but did not name six conspirators who aided and enabled Trump to

00:57 commit these crimes on January 6, two and a half years ago, although they would be charged

01:03 in a separate occasion soon.

01:06 For his part, Trump has railed against the latest indictment, the third in four months,

01:10 and insists this is nothing but a witch hunt to interfere in his push for the 2024 presidential
