Hangzhou Zoo in eastern China is facing speculation and accusations that some bears might be humans dressed in bear costumes. The controversy arose when images of a sun bear standing on its hind legs with its fur sagging above its legs were shared online. The zoo denies the allegations, stating that the sun bears in their enclosure are genuine animals and not humans in disguise. Sun bears are smaller than other bear species and are found in Southeast Asia. They are about the size of large dogs, standing at most 1.3 meters tall on their hind legs.
