00:00 Owning a private jet is the ultimate status symbol. It says to the rest of the world that
00:04 you're not just a millionaire, but someone with crazy wealth. To be able to get from
00:09 A to B in record speed doesn't come cheap. To have the exclusivity of a plane that travels
00:14 at speeds a commercial aircraft would be jealous of, and to do it all with only a handful of
00:19 people on board in ultimate luxury will set you back a few million, and that's before
00:24 any customization. Bill Gates cites his private jet as the ultimate
00:28 luxury purchase he ever made, and this is from one of the richest men in the world.
00:33 With the current climate and fast travel like this coming at a premium, it's unlikely that
00:37 the cost of these gas guzzling monsters are going to come down any time soon. So, expect
00:43 prices of luxury air travel to keep on rising. For now, let's look at the current most expensive
00:48 jets in the world before revealing the most expensive.
00:53 Welcome to another episode of Forever Green, and in this video, we're going to count down
00:57 the priciest planes with the most expensive private jets in the world. Then, we'll reveal
01:03 the number one jet, so stick around because you won't believe the price tag of that one.
01:08 It's huge in more ways than one. The Boeing 747-8
01:14 This is the longest and second-largest airliner ever built. Powered by a team of four General
01:19 Electric Gen X engines, the plane can fly 8,000 nautical miles non-stop. A personalized
01:26 Boeing 747-8 was completed by Greenpoint Technologies of Kirkland, Washington. It has an incredible
01:32 4,786 square feet of space, about the same as your average McMansion, and features a
01:38 stateroom, lounges, an office, and a massive dining room. The plane has featured its fair
01:44 share of customization down the years, with everyone wanting to put their own luxury spin
01:48 on things. But before any of that happens, the huge plane is going to cost you a huge
01:53 $403 million. That's our first entry on our list of most expensive private jets. But if
02:01 you thought that was expensive, wait until you see number one. For now, it's another
02:06 high-flying, high-priced jet. Embraer Legacy 500
02:13 The Legacy is an entry-level private jet. With its midsize cabin and midsize price,
02:18 it's not exactly cheap, but affordable for the rich and famous. Jackie Chan is an ambassador
02:23 of the company and owns one himself. It was introduced in 2014 and can fly non-stop between
02:29 New York and LA. The 500 can very comfortably seat between 8 and 12 passengers on your cross-country
02:35 journeys. All of the seats can be converted into beds for sleeping passengers. The equally
02:40 cozy cabin is lined with rich leather and custom wood veneer. In the back of the plane,
02:45 you'll find a bathroom complete with a toilet, and we're not talking about the little cupboard-sized
02:50 room you need to squat in. All this is going to set you back a cool $20 million, and this
02:55 is the cheapest on our list. We're only going to get more expensive from here.
03:00 Before we go to our third expensive jet, I have a mission for you, if you choose to accept.
03:05 You have 10 seconds to give us a thumbs up and hit the subscribe button, and you'll be
03:09 rewarded with a lifetime of good fortune. Don't believe us? Give it a go and prove us
03:14 wrong. See, we told you. Now on with the planes.
03:19 Gulfstream G500 This plane is likely to see its first flight
03:27 later this year, so you don't get much newer than this. The jet features bespoke cabins
03:32 with seating tailored to the needs of the customer. An advantage of being new is that
03:36 the plane can offer the latest tech, so the aircraft also has super-fast internet that's
03:43 30 times as fast as that of its current competitors, a must-have in today's world. It has three
03:52 living areas and can fly for over 5,000 nautical miles, all of which will cost $44 million
03:58 to own. Gulfstream G650ER
04:07 This is a step up from the G500 and represents the company's flagship product. The ER is
04:15 the advanced model and is one of the industry's highest-performance long-range business aircraft
04:20 able to travel 7,500 nautical miles nonstop. The cabin is exceptionally long, wide, and
04:29 tall, divided into four zones and seats up to 15 passengers. Of course, there are several
04:35 luxury features for these passengers, which include Wi-Fi connectivity, 42-inch flat-screen
04:40 TV and video monitors, and extensive galley facilities, allowing a wide range of hot and
04:46 cold catering on board. Oxygen is replenished every two minutes, so passengers feel more
04:52 refreshed and alert after long flights. All this luxury doesn't come cheap. Expect to
04:59 drop $66.5 million on one. We're halfway through our list now, and if
05:07 you think what we've seen so far is unbelievable, wait until the number one most expensive private
05:12 jet. But before that, five more planes starting with...
05:17 Bombardier Global 7000
05:23 Like the G-50ER, the Global 7000 is designed to be the ultimate long-distance, purpose-built
05:29 private jet. This is another brand-new plane that we should expect to see in flight soon.
05:34 The cabin can be configured in a variety of ways, including a full dining room or even
05:39 a home or plane theater. It has an amazing range that can get you from New York to Sydney,
05:45 so it's no wonder, then, that it has a private bedroom on board. The likes of youngest billionaire
05:50 in the world, Kylie Jenner, owns a version of this plane, so that puts into perspective
05:54 the kind of wealth we're dealing with here. The kind of wealth that can afford the $73
05:59 million price tag. Embraer Lineage 1000E
06:08 Now we're going away from bespoke private jets and into the converted jets. These are
06:12 now huge commercial planes that have been converted for private clients, and the first
06:17 in our list is the 1000E. It might not be the most expensive, but it's very plush and
06:22 can be configured with a master bedroom and a walk-in shower.
06:26 A big draw of these planes are the design opportunities. If that's your sort of thing,
06:31 the company can offer you some of his truly over-the-top interior concepts, like the Kyoto
06:36 Airship and its astonishing skylights or the Hollywood Airship with its glamour of the
06:41 1930s. Without taking into consideration these designs, the plane is going to cost you $50
06:47 million off the shelf. Airbus ACJ319neo
06:56 Now we're into the realms of the mega planes that only the very rich can afford. The ACJ319neo
07:03 can fly 8 passengers, 6,750 miles, 15 hours non-stop. The ACJ's fully customizable interiors
07:13 allow you to benefit from Airbus' experience in cabin outfitting management. The plane
07:18 offers almost unlimited customizable options. If you're out of ideas, you could always go
07:23 for the Infinito model that was designed with Italian supercar giant Pagani. A key feature
07:28 of the Infinito cabin is its sky ceiling, which can bring a live view of the sky above
07:34 the aircraft into the cabin, or even display customized images. The thinking behind this
07:40 is to create a feeling of airiness in space, living up to the plane's ambitious name Infinito,
07:45 or "Infinity" in Italian. The cost of all this without any design extras is $101.5 million.
07:57 Boeing 787-8 BBJ This is truly a customized project based
08:05 on the first jet we looked at, but bespoke to the requirements of Chinese company NHA,
08:11 who spent $100 million turning it into the BBJ or Boeing business jet. It's the work
08:17 of Kestrel Aviation Management's Stephen Vela, and he had a job on his hands as the interior
08:22 had to be designed from scratch. Armed with the shell of a 787 and a lot of money, he
08:28 went to work. He had a lot of space to work with, at least 2,400 square feet. That kind
08:34 of space means that it can house 40 people, which is four times more than a standard private
08:39 jet. So, what about the features? There's also a master suite with a California king
08:44 bed, a walk-in closet and a master bath with a double-size shower and heated marble floors.
08:51 The master suite also includes this gigantic dressing room and walk-in closet. There's
08:56 a refrigerator and safe as well in the suite. In total, there are five bathrooms. The plane
09:02 even has a foyer and hallway leading into the lounge.
09:06 Looking toward the front of the plane, the lounge features a pair of daybeds positioned
09:10 in front of a large, 55-inch flat-screen display. On each side of the center screen, there are
09:16 individual seats each equipped with a 24-inch screen. Looking toward the back of the plane
09:21 are a pair of divins that can be turned into sleeping accommodations or used as a dining
09:26 and meeting area. Also at the rear of the lounge are a pair of 47-inch screens. Away
09:32 from the communal space, there's even a first-class section for guests while you live
09:36 it up watching your flat screens. It features 18 full, flat, first-class sleeper seats.
09:43 Behind the guest cabin is a row of six premium economy seats for the staff.
09:47 So, what will all this cost you? Well, a lot is the answer. You'll need $224 million
09:54 to get the giant plane off the ground.
09:57 1. Boeing 777X BBJ The business jet version of Boeing's upcoming
10:06 777X will effectively take over from the 747. It will be available in both the 777-8 and
10:14 the longer, more expensive 777-9 variant. Boeing business jets launched the BBJ-777X
10:22 at the Middle East Business Aviation Association show in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in 2018,
10:28 and it promises to be something special. Boeing says the BBJ-777-8 miles, while the BBJ-777-9
10:37 can go for up to 12,700 miles. This is much more than their commercial airliner equivalents.
10:43 This means that they will be capable of making extremely long journeys, including London
10:48 to Sydney non-stop. This is made even more impressive by the fact that the plane will
10:53 have a 236-foot wingspan, along with a cabin that's 7.9 feet tall and nearly 20 feet wide.
11:01 There have been three proposed designs for the interior, all featuring a foyer, lounge,
11:06 dining space, master and guest bedrooms. Configurations vary depending on the designs, but some include
11:12 a bar where others include a walk-in wardrobe and a standalone shower. All the designs are
11:18 plush, as you might expect with top-of-the-range furnishings, which all add to this jet having
11:23 the potential to be the most exclusive plane in the world.
11:27 So to get all of this, and remember, this is before any kind of customization, the price
11:32 is going to be $394.9 million for the 8 version and $425.8 million for the 9. Customization
11:41 hasn't been priced, but it's thought that this is going to cost hundreds of millions
11:45 of dollars. Add all that together, and you have an eye-watering price tag for the most
11:50 expensive private jet in the world. So, those are the most expensive private jets
11:57 in the world. Which was your favorite? What features would you like to see in your private
