Will disciplinary action be taken against this leader who called the DAP chairman
00:05
Maharaja, who alluded to him, if you do not name names?
00:08
First of all, anybody who contests as an independent tomorrow,
00:13
they will lose their membership immediately.
00:16
That is the condition and also our party constitution.
00:21
So any DAP members who contest against the party as an independent candidate,
00:27
they will typically be revoked in terms of their membership.
00:32
Of course, there is one member who has already sent in his resignation letter.
00:37
David Marshall already resigned from the party,
00:40
expect him to be contesting as an independent candidate.
00:44
So once he has resigned from the party, of course, that is his right as a citizen
00:49
to contest in any election, either in any other party or as independent.
00:54
But for those who have yet to resign, but if they proceed to contest as an independent,
01:00
then definitely they will be removed in terms of their membership.
01:04
Do you see the group of rulers in the 29th going to affect the future of the state?
01:12
What is important is the future of the state, it is not about individuals.
01:16
In any election, when we have changes in terms of candidature or changes of people to be the candidates,
01:26
definitely there will be some reactions.
01:29
That is to be expected and that is normal in any election.
01:32
But what is important is the struggle of the party and the coalition and the vision for the state.
01:39
So what is important is the future of the United States.
01:42
It is not about the future of any person or candidate.
01:46
So I do not want to react too much to those negative reactions by individual leaders or individual personalities.
01:59
They are of course free to say whatever they want, but we have made a decision
02:04
and we will stick to the decision and we will have to convince the people of Penang
02:10
that DAP and Pakatan Harapan together with our partners in Unity Government
02:14
is here to present a vision for the state.
02:17
And we will definitely deliver for the betterment of the people of Penang in the next five years.
02:22
Thank you.
