00:00Typhoon Kalmayegi claimed at least five lives and caused extensive damage after making landfall in central Vietnam on Thursday evening.

00:10Three deaths were reported in Dac Lac Province, while two more in the neighboring Gia Lai Province.

00:16The typhoon also unleashed torrential rains and powerful winds across the coastal city of Cui Nhan and nearby regions,

00:23uprooting trees, damaging roofs, and shattering glass windows.

00:27Reports showed 52 houses collapsed, and over 2,500 others were damaged across the region.

00:57Local authorities are continuing to assess the damage and carry out recovery efforts.
