00:24 Jamie Foxx is on the mend after going through hell and back.

00:27 On July 21st, the Oscar winner, who was hospitalized in April following a health scare, posted

00:32 his first video message since the medical emergency.

00:36 First of all, I want to say thank you to everybody that's prayed, man, and sent me messages.

00:42 I cannot even begin to tell you how far it took me and how it brought me back.

00:53 I went through something that I thought I would never ever go through.

00:58 And I know a lot of people were waiting, you know, or wanting to hear updates, but to be

01:03 honest with you, I just didn't want you to see me like that, man.

01:07 You know, I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing

01:12 a movie.

01:13 Jamie then gives a shout out to his sister, Deidre Dixon, and his daughter, Corinne Foxx,

01:17 for helping him and protecting him through the journey.

01:21 My sister, Deidre Dixon, my daughter, Corinne, Marie, saved my life.

01:25 So to them, to God, to a lot of great medical people, I'm able to leave you this video.

01:37 I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in in such a way.

01:41 And y'all know they kept it airtight.

01:43 They didn't let nothing out.

01:45 They protected me.

01:46 And that's what I hope that everyone could have in moments like these.

01:50 However, as he acknowledges, that airtight silence led to some speculation about his

01:58 Sometimes things, you know, get out of hand.

02:02 Some people said I was, I was blind.

02:04 But as you can see, as you can see, the eyes are working, eyes are working just fine.
