Four-month-old baby drowned near Mumbai | Kalyan Local Train | Rainfall Maharashtra Rains

The heavy rainfall in Maharashtra is just not disrupting the daily life of the public but also taking away the lives of many people. Heavy rainfall in Mumbai and Thane district on Wednesday has taken lives.

One of those incidents is from Thane district, when the rain affected the suburban train operation, taking away a precious life.

In a shocking incident, a four-month old baby drowned in an overflowing nullah on Wednesday, after slipping from his mother’s arms during a train delay between Kalyan and Thakurli railway stations as heavy rain disrupted the train service.

The incident took place after the Ambernath local train they were travelling on, came to a halt due to waterlogging. After the train halted, many commuters were seen walking down the railway tracks to reach the nearest railway stations.

The incident took place when they were crossing the nullah along the railway tracks. The infant unintentionally slipped from mothers arms when she was handing the baby off to the uncle.

The infant was going to KEM Hospital in Mumbai with mother and uncle for a normal check-up.

The fire brigade officials launched a search operation to trace the baby after receiving a call about the child falling into nullah.
