00:00 Pretty simple and not controversial.
00:02 Aldean argues out of control crime
00:04 and BLM riots wouldn't fly in small town America.
00:08 But the woke think that's racist.
00:11 And Aldean's now defending himself
00:12 and calls the outrage quote, meritless.
00:15 I wanna go to the former MTV VJ.
00:18 Is it DJ or VJ?
00:19 - It's video jockey.
00:20 - Video jockey.
00:21 - Yeah, but downtown Julie Brown isn't here,
00:22 so I guess.
00:24 - Why would CMT pull this?
00:26 - They're afraid of backlash.
00:29 They're afraid of a small and vocal mob
00:32 rising up and contacting their sponsors
00:35 and having their sponsors pull ads and revenue.
00:39 You know, music, video, television
00:41 actually isn't very popular right now.
00:42 Even CMT, people don't sit for long periods of time
00:45 like they used to in the 90s
00:46 when we didn't have the internet.
00:49 There was no Facebook.
00:51 And so it's hard enough getting an audience.
00:53 So it's just fear of people rising up
00:57 and getting these sponsors to pull out.
01:00 - And Greg, now he's number one everywhere.
01:02 - Yeah, well, I guess the C in CMT stands for cowardice.
01:06 Yeah, we'll be right back.
01:08 No, you know, I think he learned in today's world,
01:11 you can't depict reality 'cause reality is racist.
01:16 So you can't have mug shots.
01:18 You can't have clips of rioting
01:19 because that tells a story that has been shaped
01:22 out of existence by the media.
01:24 But please play one incident by a police officer,
01:27 a fatal interaction between a cop and a suspect
01:31 100, 200 times a day,
01:33 until you believe that that is the reality.
01:35 And everybody assumes, and studies show this,
01:38 that 1,000 blacks are killed by cops every year.
01:42 Maybe it's even more.
01:43 I think Democrats believe it's somewhere
01:45 between 1,000 and 4,000.
01:47 So the results are that that's what we believe.
01:51 And when you show that, you upset the left
01:53 because they know that they made those images,
01:56 those images possible.
01:58 They degraded the cops.
02:00 They defend criminality.
02:02 This is a media-driven, activist-driven problem
02:05 that has been lasting since these riots.
02:06 We have not recovered from this.
02:08 And all he's saying is this wouldn't happen here.
02:12 I don't know, maybe it wouldn't.
02:14 It is a mirror, though.
02:15 Everything's a mirror.
02:16 Hip hop is a soundtrack to violence in some other cultures.
02:21 So if you're upset about this, tough beans.
02:24 Right, like a pro-crime hip hop song, not canceled,
02:28 but an anti-crime country song, canceled, Judge.
02:31 Well, yeah, you know, you have these rap songs like F,
02:35 you know, the rest of it, Donald Trump,
02:37 or you get some of these rap songs
02:40 where they actually talk about rape
02:41 and they talk about killing cops.
02:43 That stuff is never censored.
02:46 Okay, but CMT, for them to do this,
02:48 don't they know who their audience is?
02:50 Don't they know who buys Jason Aldean's records?
02:53 I mean, what is wrong with them?
02:55 And the whole idea of the First Amendment
02:57 and freedom of speech, I mean,
02:59 the hip hop rap artists get to say whatever they want,
03:02 but you get a conservative there
03:04 who literally has documentation
03:07 of what is happening in America,
03:09 of the truth, of the facts,
03:11 and he's not trying to portray them in any way
03:13 other than how they are,
03:15 and he gets, you know, canceled,
03:17 or the song gets pulled.
03:19 I'm gonna buy a bunch of those songs.
03:21 - Good, and usually the left, Jessica,
03:24 embraces free expression.
03:26 Art, how many times have we heard,
03:28 oh, it's art, can't censor art?
03:30 - Yeah, I didn't think that it deserved to be pulled.
03:33 I think it's, you can have a conversation about it
03:36 because it's not just saying, you know,
03:38 this doesn't happen in small towns.
03:40 It's saying if it did happen in a small town,
03:42 we've all got guns and we're gonna take matters
03:44 into our own hands, which is vigilantism.
03:46 - No, it's a good message.
03:48 It stops it.
03:48 Your message is my vigilantism.
03:51 I would also say that I do think it's a strange choice
03:54 to perform this in front of a courthouse
03:56 where a boy was lynched,
03:58 an 18-year-old was lynched in 1927.
04:00 - Do you think he does that?
04:01 - You know what, Jessica?
04:02 - I hope that he does.
04:03 If he doesn't have good enough advance people--
04:03 - There have been so many music videos
04:05 and so many films-- - In front of places
04:07 where people were lynched? - In front of that
04:08 exact location, and no one said anything.
04:10 - Don't you think he's trying to show
04:12 that there hasn't been that much progress
04:15 and that, you know, with Black Lives Matter
04:17 is violating the law themselves at this point,
04:21 rioting and burning? - I'm just saying,
04:22 I imagine that there are available courthouses
04:26 where an 18-year-old boy wasn't lynched.
04:28 Again, I said I didn't think that it should be taken down.
04:31 I think you should have these conversations.
04:32 I think what Sheryl Crow is contributing to this,
04:34 talking about the fact that she actually grew up
04:36 in a much smaller town than Jason Aldean did
04:38 and finds this to be offensive
04:41 and promoting the use of guns.
04:43 - She's so brave. - Okay, that's great.
04:44 - Sheryl Crow, she's so brave.
04:45 - Sheryl Crow. - Now you hate Sheryl.
04:46 Everyone loves Sheryl Crow.
04:47 - Yeah. - We've got guys.
04:48 - You know what, she doesn't set the standard.
04:50 The American people do.
04:51 - Fine. - Fine, fine.
04:53 - By his record, enjoy it. - Fine.
04:54 - I don't. - You're right.
04:55 It is fine. - Yeah, it is.
04:56 - Is that it?
04:57 Thank you.
04:58 - Yeah. - Up next.
04:59 - That's it. - That's it.
