00:00 We've had a very good offseason with our team, good offseason program, good spring
00:05 practice, very good summer.
00:08 The team is taking shape.
00:10 We're still evolving as a team.
00:14 Lots of new players, some experienced players to go with some of the good young players
00:19 that we have in the program.
00:22 New coaches evolving into the system and trying to get the young players on our team to be
00:29 able to develop in the system.
00:32 So far the players are very enthusiastic and very committed to developing the talent that
00:39 we have on our team.
00:41 I think that's a critical piece of growing your team and developing your team is that
00:50 you can take the talent that you have and create the right mindset to go with that talent
00:56 because talent alone is not going to help them be successful because they're heading
01:02 some place in the SEC as well as in the NFL if they have the opportunity to get there
01:08 where everybody has talent.
01:10 So if you don't have the right mindset to go with it, then you're never going to bring
01:15 that talent to fruition nor will you be able to create the kind of competitive spirit that
01:21 you need.
01:22 And we're talking about having resiliency and perseverance and ability to overcome adversity
01:27 and the discipline to pay attention to detail and do the little things right.
01:32 And one thing that kind of goes with all that is humility.
01:35 You know when you have humility, you always think there's a better way.
01:40 So you're always searching, you're always listening, you're always trying to learn.
01:45 And therefore you develop really good relationships with teachers, parents, coaches, and people
01:49 who are trying to help you.
01:52 And you have gratitude and you appreciate that, and that creates for great relationships,
01:58 you know, on your team.
02:01 And if you just think you're really, really good and you're better than everybody else,
02:04 then sometimes you don't take those and develop those relationships with the same amount of
02:10 gratitude and you don't have the same kind of team chemistry that goes with players and
02:17 coaches alike.
02:19 So we want to stay focused on the process of what we need to do to play winning football
02:24 at every position.
02:26 And I'm not here to create expectations for our team.
02:30 Lots of people will do that, but expectations in some way are a premeditated way to create
02:37 disappointment.
02:39 And I think you can look at it in your life, and that's why I say we need to stay process
02:43 oriented, not focused on the outcome, but focused on the things that we need to do to
02:48 get the outcome that we want.
02:50 And you know, if you have high expectations for what you want to accomplish and it doesn't
02:57 work out, it makes you focus on the outcome and it doesn't work out and you're very disappointed.
03:02 So we would rather stay focused on what we need to do to get the outcome necessary to
03:08 be the best that we can be as a team at every position and with every player.
