00:00 Meg roars as Harry empty-handed as Queen Mother passes all assets to heirs.
00:04 William gets £20 million from the new title.
00:08 Prince William's hardly used new title that gives him a multi-million pound fortune.
00:13 One day after King Charles' accession, he appeared on television to make his first public
00:17 address to the nation in order to pay tribute to his mother, the late Queen.
00:21 It was in this speech that he also confirmed that his oldest son and daughter-in-law, then
00:26 starred as the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge, would be known as the Prince
00:30 and Princess of Wales.
00:31 As a result, Prince William became the 27th Prince of Wales and was granted the additional
00:36 title of the Duke of Cornwall, the Earl of Chester, the Duke of Wroughtsey, the Earl
00:41 of Carrick, the Baron of Renfrew, Lord of the Isles and Prince and Great Steward of
00:45 Scotland.
00:47 Prince William also inherited the vast private estate of the Duchy of Cornwall which was
00:51 established by King Edward III in 1337 for his son Prince Edward the Black Prince.
00:57 At the time, a charter ruled that each future Duke of Cornwall would be the eldest surviving
01:01 son of the monarch, as well as the heir to the throne.
01:05 The revenues from the estate are used to fund the public, private and charitable activities
01:09 of Prince William and his family.
01:11 King Charles has long been training his oldest son for his new role as the Prince of Wales
01:15 and what his role within the Duchy of Cornwall estate will involve.
01:19 During the publication of the Sovereign Grant Report for 2022/23, it was revealed that Prince
01:25 William had received a private income from the Duchy of Cornwall of nearly £6 million
01:30 this year, but could get more than £20 million next year.
01:35 William is now entitled to its surplus profits every year.
01:38 The Duchy generated record profits of £24 million in 2022/23, up by almost a million
01:49 from the year before, a jump of about 4.5% the estate's own accounts showed.
01:54 Usually the Prince would get the £24 million as his private income, but his finances were
01:59 complicated by him becoming heir to the throne halfway through the financial year.
02:03 In the meanwhile, Harry has nothing as a palace source reveals that there's no trust fund
02:09 from their great-grandmother, the Queen Mother.
02:11 Not only does it make no sense considering the Queen Mother died in massive debt to the
02:15 tune of millions, but it was debunked by Forbes.
02:19 No one is compensating Harry for not being sovereign.
02:22 Not to mention, and notwithstanding, his heroic PR.
02:26 Harry was an unluce canon, an idiot.
02:29 Not someone the Queen Mother would be eager to big up with millions.
02:32 She didn't have the money and all of her assets went to a daughter to the Queen.
02:36 There may have been bequests, but the real stuff went to the Queen.
02:39 It always goes to the monarch.
02:41 There is none and wasn't one and nobody was trying to make it up to Harry financially.
02:46 The whole point of the system is not to equalise others to the heir.
02:50 It's a monarchy, it's a hierarchy, the underpinning is financial.
02:53 In other news, Prince William is intent on fixing one of the firm's flaws that was identified
02:57 by his late mother, Diana the Princess of Wales, after she married into the family.
03:03 Recently William launched his Homewoods project in a major five year effort to end homelessness
03:07 in the UK, following in Diana's footsteps to make the royals less distant and more accessible.
03:15 But William's mother had also identified another area within the royal family itself that needed
03:19 fixing.
03:20 In his role as heir to the throne, William has worked tirelessly to raise the profile
03:24 of his charities, alongside his wife Princess Kate, with both focused on their own key areas.
03:31 Former BBC royal correspondent Jenny Bond told OK!
03:34 magazine, "In almost everything he does and says, William is gently pushing the monarchy
03:38 forward."
