Elon Jet Tracker Moves to Twitter Rival Threads
  • 10 months ago
Jack Sweeney, the creator of the banned @ElonJet Twitter account, has moved his tracking project to Meta's rival platform, Threads, which has quickly gained 80,000 followers. Elon Musk suspended the @ElonJet Twitter account last year, citing it as a "direct personal safety risk." Sweeney rejected Musk's initial offer of $5,000 to remove the tracker and requested $50,000 and an internship instead. Sweeney also runs trackers on other platforms, monitoring the flight paths of private jets belonging to notable figures. These accounts were also suspended. Threads, Meta's recently launched platform, has gained significant popularity with 100 million users shortly after its release. Tensions between the social media moguls have escalated as Twitter threatens to sue Meta over trade secrets and intellectual property in Threads. At the same time, Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg's rivalry intensifies with talk of a potential cage match.
