Wales headlines 8 June: Half a billion of Welsh EU money still unspent

Campaigners in Wales have lost their appeal to the high court aimed at allowing children to be removed from Relationship and Sexual education in schools. Public Child Protection Wales argued the teaching amounted to indoctrination, but Lord Justice Males says the guidance of teaching does no such thing.

The Welsh government has as much as half a billion pounds in EU money, which they will lose if it is not spent by the end of the year. A government spokesperson said they are looking to maximise the full benefits of the fund. Welsh conservative’s have said if spent well, it could be invaluable to Welsh people.

The Prince and Princess of Wales have offered to restock a burgled food bank in Swansea. St Thomas Church had bikes, baby toys, as well as food and drink stolen late on Saturday. The Royals had previously visited the church on their first official trip to Wales after being given their new titles.
