00:00 The forests of Africa are always abuzz with the impromptu encounters that come from the
00:12 conflict of animals, as the African wild dogs and the hyenas are no exception.
00:19 And between wild dogs with favourable numbers and hyenas with reckless nature, which is
00:25 the dominant species?
00:28 Let us find out in the following video.
00:33 The Confrontation Between The Wild Dog And The Hyena
00:41 The hyena, with its greed and recklessness, often tries to steal the prey from other animals.
00:46 It is also an animal that acts as a rival to the African wild dog, as they are even
00:52 a hindrance to wild dogs.
00:54 Besides the hunting of lions, the encounters between these two species usually do not lead
01:01 to a loss of life, but are equally fierce and difficult.
01:09 As the hyenas not only rob their prey when other animals are negligent, but they blatantly
01:13 rob their prey when the bait is even in the hands of the hunter.
01:21 As the pack of wild dogs are enjoying their spoils, suddenly a hyena came from nowhere,
01:27 and even though the wild dogs were still nearby and ready to take the prey, realizing that
01:32 the hyena's attentions, the wild dogs had shouted to each other to bite at the hyena.
01:39 The hyena only knows the weak defenses by blocking the bites of the dogs, and after
02:01 a while, realizing that the hyenas were no longer a threat, the dogs had left.
02:13 The hyenas are so brave that they are ready to take the prey off the leopards while the
02:18 bait is still in their mouths.
02:20 As for the African wild dog, although it is smaller and weaker than the hyena, the dogs
02:26 are not easily defeated, as this is because the wild dogs have a very strong social bond,
02:32 stronger than that of lions and spotted hyenas, so seeing them alone are extremely rare in
02:39 this species, as they are so attached to each other that they do not need facial expressions
02:46 to communicate with each other like the grey wolves.
02:57 More specifically, unlike other carnivores that hunt in groups, the African wild dogs
03:02 will eventually distribute food to their family members, and because of the feature of burping
03:08 food for young, when the puppy is old enough to eat solid food, they will be given priority
03:14 as soon as the prey has been killed.
03:18 The African wild dogs often attack their opponents by jumping up to bite the opponent many times.
03:27 This behavior is used for both prey and opponent, and this hyena is trapped among a pack of
03:34 wild dogs, and it didn't know how to get out of this place when it was attacked by
03:38 the dogs from time to time.
03:42 So that is how a normal hyena, no matter how big, has a hard time facing this pack of wild
03:49 dogs.
03:55 Although not widely known as a dangerous African animal, such as the cheetah, lion or crocodile,
04:05 the African wild dog is also known as the master of the art of combining hunting with
04:10 a success rate of up to three quarters higher than that of lions and hyenas, as they also
04:19 have one of the strongest bites of any carnivore's mammal.
04:25 And no wonder this hyena looks so helpless in front of the wild dogs, as it even showed
04:35 a surrender attitude many times when repeatedly lying down and giving up on attacking the
04:41 dogs again.
04:48 But perhaps due to the pain of the bite, the hyena had no choice but to flee into a nearby
04:53 river.
04:56 Unfortunately for the hyena, perhaps the water in the dogs' weak point, it is not lone
05:02 hyenas that easily succumb to the African wild dogs, but the hyenas with companions
05:08 are also not easy to deal with when encountering this breed, as the African wild dog, with
05:16 a persistent nature, still resolutely pursued as the two hyenas had hurried to find cover.
05:25 And they attack continuously, and looking at the hiding of the two hyenas, it must say
05:30 that it must have been bad luck for them to encounter this pack of wild dogs.
05:40 The African wild dog and the hyena are enemies in the wild, as hyenas often try to kill the
05:48 stray dogs by watching them from a distance and approaching the dogs as gently as possible,
05:54 even though they are likely to lose their lives.
06:01 And when working in groups, spotted hyenas are more likely to succeed in killing the
06:05 African wild dogs, but because hyenas rarely work in groups, this is often not the case,
06:15 as the African wild dog can easily repel the lone hyenas, which are apex predators and
06:20 are second only to the larger pack predators.
06:26 When the hyenas get heated in a fight, that is when things get tumultuous, as the presence
06:31 of a pack of wild dogs and the hyenas had made the battle chaotic, because the dogs
06:36 would jump to attack, and the hyena every now and then, making the squad momentarily
06:41 unbalanced, as the hyena also doesn't fit, as it is ready to attack any dog that has
06:47 bitten it and continuously howls with persistent howls, as it's circled around in self-defense
06:55 and even successfully biting a back at a few dogs at a time, but these attacks are usually
07:00 done by one side, leading first because no one gets away, as it is not known when the
07:07 battle can come to an end.
07:12 As nature has no clear laws, unlike mathematics, but the strong are not necessarily the winners
07:19 and oftentimes the weak side is not necessarily the loser.
07:25 Therefore, human knowledge of nature still has a lot to learn, because there are many
07:32 surprises and mysteries that we still have to be busy learning, as it seems that Mother
07:37 Nature knows just how to make us surprised and self-conscious about our knowledge.
