00:00 of the tournament, everything I'm considering,
00:02 you're gonna consider it all, okay?
00:04 Listen, you receive instructions on dressing room.
00:05 Expect a tough, clean fight.
00:06 You're gonna command some ball time,
00:07 protect yourselves all the time.
00:08 Touch 'em up.
00:10 - We are set for Devon "Tap" Williams
00:18 against Slick Willie William Davis.
00:22 Kevin Cunningham in the corner
00:24 of the 20-year-old Devon Williams.
00:28 - All right.
00:29 Rupaul, you ready?
00:30 Rupaul, you ready?
00:32 Bam!
00:33 [bell dings]
00:34 - Here we go!
00:36 It's time to fight!
00:38 Gray and black trunks for Tap Devon Williams.
00:44 Slick Willie William Davis in the black and purple.
00:47 Oh, he's hit right away!
00:49 Just like that!
00:52 - Wow!
00:53 Six, seven, eight!
00:56 Walk to me.
00:57 - Beautifully timed.
00:58 - You're on the team.
00:59 All right, protect yourself.
01:00 Oh!
01:01 - Oh, and again!
01:05 Wasting no time.
01:06 - Oh!
01:07 - He may finish early.
01:08 - Oh, he--
01:09 - That's it, that's it.
01:10 - It's over!
01:11 Just like that!
01:12 - Come on, come on, come on.
01:13 - 20-year-old Devon Williams by knockout!
01:17 - Davis should have tried to hold on.
01:19 You could see that in experience,
01:20 seven years out, you know,
01:22 those instincts are kind of getting away from you.
01:24 - And our key to victory was start fast,
01:27 contestant resilience,
01:28 and that was exactly what Tap Williams did.
01:30 - Did he ever.
01:31 - My goodness.
01:32 The precision, the accuracy,
01:34 that left hook was a thing of beauty.
01:36 - Yeah, and that's the thing,
01:37 sometimes when a knockout's that fast,
01:39 it's just a matter of the guy,
01:40 the other guy being in it.
01:41 We don't really know, because the guy, you know,
01:42 Davis threw a good jab to the stomach,
01:44 but it was well-timed.
01:45 Williams held his ground, which is a must
01:48 if you're gonna get that kind of power on the shot.
01:50 Held his ground and threw the hook
01:51 over the top of the jab to the stomach,
01:53 and you know what, that did the damage.
01:54 It wasn't just one of these quick knockouts
01:56 because, hey, you know what,
01:57 the guy didn't do anything.
01:58 - No, no.
01:59 - It was actually a well-timed shot.
02:00 - Yeah, well, he, like you said,
02:01 Davis actually landed a really nice jab
02:03 off the side of the body early,
02:04 went to it again, went to it the third time,
02:06 and Williams had made that adjustment,
02:08 timed it perfectly as he came in,
02:10 caught him, didn't see the shot,
02:11 put him down.
02:12 - And not just the timing,
02:13 the key is he held his ground.
02:14 A lot of times your instincts
02:15 used to ride with that shot,
02:16 maybe even check hook.
02:17 Most guys will do that.
02:18 I know I would've done that.
02:19 I used to love the check hook,
02:20 but Williams actually holds his ground there,
02:23 and that's what allows him to really be set
02:25 to put power on that hook,
02:26 and you could see with the power on the hook
02:28 the result that it gave, it got him.
02:30 - As you said, that initial knockdown,
02:38 you're gonna see go low, go high,
02:40 reaches for the body.
02:41 Doesn't have the range for that body shot there,
02:44 but that left hook over the top,
02:45 perfectly timed,
02:46 and like you said, Champ, set his feet,
02:49 knew the punch was coming, ready for it,
02:51 beautiful shot over the top, right in the temple.
02:55 Davis goes down hard.
02:57 - Yeah, that's a lot of alertness,
02:59 especially early on in a fight,
03:00 to be able to have that kind of concentration.
03:02 You really haven't seen your opponent's speed yet.
03:04 You're usually trying to gauge the timing.
03:06 I mean, he gauged it rather fast.
03:08 - That was sharp, super sharp.
03:10 - And it's sharp, the second knockdown here,
03:12 I mean, Davis is already hurt,
03:14 just as elementary here.
03:15 This is where Davis should've been trying to hold.
03:16 Instead he was trying to fight Williams off of him,
03:18 and of course, that's never a good thing
03:20 when you're hurt and you have no legs,
03:21 and you can see right here, he's trying to fire back,
03:24 and of course, that's just gonna get him timed again,
03:26 you know, catch and shoot there with the hook to the head,
03:28 and of course, a nice double hook, body and head,
03:30 combination finishes the fight.
03:31 - His nickname is Tap, but that boy does not tap.
03:34 He's throwing real heat, setting down.
03:36 I really like the fact that everything he threw
03:38 after he had this man hurt was power.
03:39 He's like, "Let me get him out of here."
03:40 - And also, you know what?
03:41 The transition from defense to offense,
03:43 he's really flowing very well, like water,
03:44 you know, to quote Bruce Lee, you know,
03:47 the transition right from defense to offense,
03:49 offense to defense,
03:50 you can see it just flow naturally.
03:52 - If those are taps, Chris, I would hate to see it,
03:56 and so would a future opponent.
03:58 But he really throws because it was quick work
04:01 for Devon Williams.
04:02 In fact, I didn't even get to say,
04:04 William Davis in the Southpaw stance.
04:07 Coming up next, super middleweight matchup,
04:09 six rounds featuring the 2020 Haitian Olympian
04:13 Darryl "Blast Val" Saint and Marcelo Soski,
04:18 who comes in on short notice.
04:19 Then it is Marcus Fai and Marcus Leighton
04:23 in our co-main event of the evening.
04:25 That one, it's super well to wait.
04:27 Our main event is scheduled for 10.
04:29 He returns the Georgian Otar Aranosian
04:33 against Mexico's Eddie Valencia.
04:36 But now to make our first fight of the night official,
04:39 let's get it back up to Pablo Flores.
04:42 [dramatic music]
04:44 [bell ringing]
04:45 - And ladies and gentlemen, referee in charge,
04:47 Christopher Young stops about officially
04:50 with a time of 40 seconds in the opening round.
04:53 [speaking Spanish]
04:56 [speaking Spanish]
04:58 [speaking Spanish]
04:59 For your winner by the way of TKO victory,
05:01 [speaking Spanish]
05:05 Devon "Tap One" Williams!
05:10 [audience cheering]
05:13 - Great job done by Devon Williams.
05:17 And Chris, you beat me to it.
05:19 I guess you were getting me back for the timeline
05:21 'cause I was gonna say those taps had a ton of power
05:24 and they certainly did and they worked effectively.
05:28 You talked to us in our fight.
