00:00 Contrary to what a lot of people think, the smarter dog isn't always the one that's easier
00:04 to train. A dog's attitude towards training is a result of a number of different factors,
00:10 including their age, mental and physical health, and of course, how smart they are.
00:14 In this video, we're going to be looking at the top 10 breeds that are the easiest to train.
00:19 These are the dogs that you should get if you're just starting out
00:23 and don't really know how to train your dogs.
00:27 #10 The Miniature Schnauzer First off, miniature schnauzers are
00:31 highly energetic and agile. But what makes them so special is that they're also very obedient
00:37 little dogs. One thing that is common for dogs their size is a lot of barking, and you might
00:42 also find this in the miniature schnauzer. But the good part is that you could reduce and possibly
00:47 remove this trait completely by training and teaching them what is acceptable right from
00:52 when they're little pups. Note that the barking might not completely go away since it's something
00:57 that is part of their nature. But as we have said, the right training can help reduce it
01:02 to the barest minimum. #9 The Papillon
01:06 Most toy breeds have a reputation for being stubborn and yippy. And while that can be very
01:12 true, the Papillon is most times quite different from this description. Papillons are pretty smart
01:18 and they love all forms of physical activity and exercise, including training. But here's the thing
01:24 with the Papillon. While they're quite receptive to training, they need to be trained properly.
01:29 Without the right training, they can become very stubborn and might even cause a lot of
01:34 chaos in the process. You'll be surprised how something so cute could create that much chaos.
01:39 #8 The Doberman Pinscher These dogs are more popular for their
01:44 roles as guard and attack dogs. But what a lot of people don't know is they make the best pets
01:49 when given proper training. The fact that they used to be very popular in the force
01:55 should already attest to the fact that they are very obedient dogs. Thanks to what they're already
02:00 used to, these dogs are pretty fast and strong. And together with their superior intelligence,
02:06 they make really great sporting dogs. So once you can patiently train these dogs to a proper level,
02:12 they will satisfy as the perfect pets. And you can even enter sporting competitions with them.
02:16 #7 The Australian Cattle Dog The Australian Cattle Dog is a herding dog
02:22 that is most popular for its agility, strength and courage. But they are also very intelligent
02:28 and loyal once you match their dominant attitude. The environment this bred thrives in needs to be
02:34 active and very challenging. But once you manage to keep the Aussie Cattle Dog satisfied with all
02:40 the required action, then you can be sure they'd always stay in tip-top form.
02:45 #6 The German Shepherd Loyal, intelligent and dependable,
02:50 the German Shepherd is one sweet canine to have. Whether as a family dog, a guard dog or a service
02:56 dog, these guys do the job perfectly because they are very trainable and very obedient.
03:01 One thing you have to keep in mind if you get a German Shepherd is that they need to be busy
03:06 to be comfortable. You will need to constantly keep them engaged both physically and mentally.
03:11 Once you do, they'll pick up your commands very quickly and training will be a breeze for you.
03:17 It's this high trainability that makes them very versatile dogs. They can be used as everything
03:23 from police dogs to army dogs, guide dogs and even therapy dogs.
03:27 #5 The Poodle Poodles are mainly known for their good looks.
03:32 But they are much more than just pretty dogs. They are very smart and easy to train. And their
03:38 small brains pack enough muscle to give them the ability to learn a lot of different new tricks
03:42 and commands. This smartness is sometimes a liability because they are known to outsmart
03:48 their owners to get what they want. There are three sizes of the Poodle breed, the toy,
03:53 miniature and standard Poodles. And all three of them are hypoallergenic. This means they are
04:00 unlikely to cause an allergic reaction. This is why they are the favorite of people who have
04:05 allergies and people who can't handle having fur everywhere in their house.
04:08 #4 The Australian Shepherd If you are an active person and you need a
04:15 dog that can match your energy and vibe, then you should consider getting an Australian Shepherd.
04:19 They are very intelligent dogs too and can perform a variety of tricks.
04:23 If there is a trick anywhere in the book, the Australian Shepherd is a breed that can learn it
04:29 and the best part is they learn it fast too. Being working dogs, they love to always have
04:35 something to do. So, to keep these dogs happy, you have to give them something to do almost all the
04:41 time. If Australian Shepherds aren't getting the right amount of play and exercise, they can become
04:46 quite destructive. So, you definitely want to ensure they are getting properly stimulated every day.
04:52 #3 The Labrador Retriever These guys are arguably one of the most
04:58 lovable dog breeds in the world. They are very popular both in America and the rest of the world
05:03 and it's because they are gentle dogs that they are very easy to train. If you need a dog that's
05:08 both playful and intelligent, then the Labrador Retriever should definitely be on your radar.
05:13 What makes the Lab so well-suited for training is that they are very versatile dogs. So, in essence,
05:19 the Labrador Retriever can learn anything you teach them. Okay, maybe not everything, but you get the
05:24 point. They'll do really well in doggy sport competitions. Just remember as you go into the
05:30 journey that is dog ownership that Labrador Retrievers are like balls of energy covered in fur.
05:35 So, you would need to be patient in training, but at the end of the day, it's always worth it.
05:40 #2 The Golden Retriever These all-time favorites are very
05:45 intelligent dogs and are regarded to be among the most loyal dog breeds in the world. By nature,
05:51 Golden Retrievers will do anything as long as it pleases their owners. This makes them more receptive
05:57 to training. The jolly nature of these dogs, however, can create problems, as it makes them
06:02 easily distracted. Still, though, their urge to please and learn usually surpasses most of these
06:08 distractions. Like their counterparts, the Labrador, the Golden Retrievers need constant
06:13 exercise to stay in shape. They are very friendly dogs, but they can also make excellent hunting
06:18 dogs and service dogs. Before we look at #1, don't forget to subscribe to the channel and turn on

06:30 #1 The Border Collie Border Collies are very smart dogs that
06:35 have the capacity to learn a ton of tricks. These dogs are so energetic they are called
06:41 workaholic dogs. They are very hungry to learn anything new and to please their owners,
06:46 which makes them easy to train. But as usual, there is always a caveat. The Border Collie was
06:52 bred as a hunting dog. This means that they will also be very active and almost unable to stay
06:58 still. So they need daily exercise to burn off all the excess energy in their bodies.
07:03 But if you think you can keep up with the level of energy that these dogs have to dispense by
07:08 teaching agility games, laying fetch, and even making them work on the farm, if you have one,
07:14 then you really should go for the Border Collie. They make the best friend.
07:17 At the beginning of this video, we mentioned some factors that might affect the training of a dog.
07:22 The first is age. Very young pups have a very short attention span. So, if you take part in
07:29 a training program that exceeds that attention span, you might find them losing interest and
07:34 being reluctant to train. Their receptiveness to training will adjust as the dog grows,
07:40 but it also varies. There is no one way in which this evolves, but the toughest time is when they
07:46 are still very young and easily distracted. Also, when they are very old. It might be difficult to
07:52 train them, but it is definitely possible. Don't let the statement "you can't teach an old dog new
07:58 tricks" fool you. It couldn't be further from the truth. The next is their mental and physical
08:04 health. One very obvious fact is that when a dog is at its best, physically and mentally,
08:09 they would retain all they learned from their training sessions. So, if your dog has an injury,
08:14 or you can sense it's mentally down or overstimulated, you should either pause or
08:19 short the training time till they are back in tip-top form. Finally, guys, you have a huge
08:25 part to play. As dog owners, you first need to establish yourself as a person in charge,
08:30 so that your dog respects your commands and rules. However, you need to ensure you're not being
08:35 forceful or cruel in the process. Also, take time out to research all about the breed you have
08:41 and how you can be a better dog parent to them. And with that, we have come to the end of today's
08:48 video. Hopefully, you liked it. If you did, smash a like and subscribe to the channel. Feel free to
08:53 leave your opinions in the comment section below for the experiences you've had with your dog's
08:58 training. That being said, you'll definitely love these two videos showing on your screen right now.
