Despite the earth's abundance, only 2.5% of the world's water is freshwater, drinkable. According to WHO/UNICEF 2020, more than half of the world's population, or 4.2 billion people, lacks safely managed sanitation services. This causes, again according to these sources, many problems of malnutrition.
