I’ll Meet Her Someday, written by Mark Fielding Darden in 1982

I have always been struck by the fact that you never know what is going to happen to you. I used to ride through the county I live in and pass this certain ruddy little timber path into the woods (while riding on a gravel road to begin with). Little did I think that someday I would buy almost 200 acres down that path and build a 6400 square foot mansion on top of a small mountain where I would raise my kids and call home. But I did. We called it Blue Creek Valley Farm. And the highway got paved too.

Same with people we meet. I met a girl who was with her husband at some friend’s house one night years ago. They were newcomers from up north. We were friendly and smiled and we conversed for a bit. Three years later, that woman and I were in love and living together with her mother in my home (along with three cats and a dog).
And now we aren’t. So there. Perfick example.

Listen to the lyrics of this song, and fathom the possibilities. Has your life been full of surprises? I’ll bet it has!

There is an old saying: “If you come to a fork in the road, take it.”

I rest my case. This is an old song with too much reverb, but it’s a damn good one. I sang my ass off on it, especially at the end.
