GE Splits From Health Care Unit
  • last year
GE HealthCare Technologies Inc ($GEHC@US) started trading as a separate company on Wednesday as General Electric ($GE@US) made a step toward focusing on energy. GE will focus on its three divisions: jet engines, natural gas-powered turbines, and wind turbines. The gas and wind turbines will be combined with a new company, GE Vernova, that will split off in 2024. The conglomerate’s energy division has experienced losses and struggles with cost inflation and supply chain problems. The split of its aerospace, energy, and health divisions is part of a years-long restructuring plan to simplify operations and make them more attractive to investors.
