Twitter Has Grown
Under Elon Musk, , Data Shows.
NBC News reports that despite controversy surrounding Musk's changes to the company, .
Twitter downloads and activity are on the rise.
Independent research firms Apptopia and Sensor Tower have compiled Twitter data since Musk's takeover. .
In the U.S., Apptopia reports Twitter downloads averaged roughly 125,000 per day over 31 days.
That's 42% higher
compared to last year.
However, outside of the U.S., downloads only rose by 4% compared to last year.
According to consumer
tech analyst Carolina Milanesi, .
the slower international growth
may be because people abroad
don't care about drama
surrounding Musk.
She also said the number of users may not matter as much as demographics and referenced the revised Twitter Blue subscription.
Especially if he wants to pivot to a paid-for service, not everyone is going to want to or be able to pay $8 a month, Carolina Milanesi, consumer tech analyst, via NBC News.
Mazdak Hashemi, former vice president
of engineering at Twitter, took to the platform on
Nov. 27 and acknowledged the increased engagement.
We can't ignore the increased engagement
on Twitter. I don't agree with some of Musk's decisions and how they were executed,
but he is present and Twitter seems
more alive since he took over, Mazdak Hashemi, former vice president
of engineering at Twitter, via Twitter.
Many experts say the increased interest in Twitter may only be temporary as people wait to see what the future holds for the company
