Mylon - album Mylon (We believe) 1970

  • anno scorso
"Mylon (We believe)" was the first successful album as soloist by Mylon LeFevre from Gulfport, Mississippi. When he was old enough he joined the family business as mother and father were leaders of one of the most storied family groups in Southern Gospel music. While in the military, Mylon wrote a gospel song called "Without him". Elvis Presley heard it and asked to record it. That was the moment in wich his life changed. In late 1960s, Mylon started recording solo albums, but they were still within the traditional, Southern gospel style. His first mainstream album entitled "Mylon-We believe" was released in 1970. It's considered to be one of the very first Christian albums. The album was produced by Allen Tuissaint. Gospel influenced Southern rock, with heavy organ, fantastic female backsingers, tasty guitar works, with an early 1970s country blues vibe, including funky and Pentecostal hymnals and rock-beat.

Old gospel ship.
Sunday school blues.
Who knoes.
Sweet peace within.
You're still on my mind.
Trying to be free.
Searching for reality.
Pleasing who, pleases you?
Contemplation.
Hitch hike.
Peace begins within.
The only thing that's free.
