The Hike up to the top of the Valley involved climbing up Stone Stairs from the Natural Swimming area to the Natural Pools on top of the Valley that Serves Ithaca. The Stone Stairs were put in place to ease the steep Grades on the Gorge Trail at Buttermilk Falls State Park
