When Foreign Minister Penny Wong was in Thailand, she signed off on Australia’s support for a first of its kind training centre which will focus on countering human trafficking. In the past financial year, the AFP received 294 reports of modern slavery and human trafficking up more than 30 per cent on the previous 12 months.
