IFS calls for 'serious economic strategy' from government

The Director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies has urged the government to set out a "serious economic strategy" in order to regain economic credibility.

Paul Johnson said: "Regaining economic credibility once you've lost it is really hard and it's not something that's likely to be achieved on a single day by an announcement, by moving from one chancellor to the next."
