40% of low-income earners spent half of income on rent

Skipping meals, doctors’ appointments and relying on food donations these are the stories from renters struggling to keep up with the rising cost of living. A new survey has found more than 40 per cent of low-income earners are spending half their incomes on rent and some on support payments believe they're being discriminated against in the battle to find a home.
