The Movie: Shaolin Invincibles 1977, dir. Cheng Huo Our ol’ pal Carter Wong returns in this oddball epic about a couple of butt-kickin’ sisters seeking revenge against the evil king who killed their parents. Problem is, to get to the king, they have to fight their way through a booby trap-filled castle, an army of bodyguards, and a pair of kung fu gorillas. That’s right: kung fu gorillas. And Carter Wong, too!
The Fu: Valentines and bad luck and Abe Lincoln, oh my! Everybody paid a visit to the Ted Sullivan Theater this week, from a heartbroken Billy Mays to a shirtless Honest Abe to the Beaver clan. (And yes, the technical term is a muff of beavers.) And then there's Mrs. Fu, who had a few complaints we'd rather not have heard, and who had a few solutions we'd rather not have found out about.
