That night, the Emir had come first and reserved a table at his favorite restaurant.
Mila catches up later because the extra work at the office makes her come home late.
After almost an hour of waiting for the Emir, Mila finally came.
On the table, there was already a plate of rice, a portion of roast duck, and a plate of spaghetti.
"You ordered it for me?" asked Mila.
"Yeah, you always say you like roast duck at this restaurant, don't you?" replied the Emir.
"You always remember it well," Mila replied again with a smile.
The Emir didn't say much after that.
They both seemed to enjoy the dish.
In the middle of that evening's program, Emir reached into his trouser pocket.
He has prepared a box of gold rings that he will give to propose to his lover.
However, before the Emir actually took out the ring, Mila had interrupted him first.
“Emir, sorry,” Mila said.
"Sorry, why? What are you doing?" asked the Emir in surprise.
"About Mother. He doesn't approve of us," said Mila.
He didn't even show the ring box that the Emir had been holding under the table to Mila.
"Why? We have been together for a long time and love each other. Our income is also good enough to be able to have a family!” said the Emir who could not hide his disappointment.
"Not that! You already know, that's not our problem!" Mila answered while looking at the Emir's eyes with sadness.
“I knew you would make a good husband,” Mila continued. "However, after all, you cannot become my priest while your hand is still holding the rosary,".
The Emir was silent, the spaghetti he had not finished eating was left to cool just like that.
With tears in her eyes, Mila apologized and asked the Emir to forget her.
That night was the last night for them.
The Emir was still silent when Mila left the table.
The beautiful restaurant building is a silent witness to two souls who love each other but cannot be together.
