Philippine Eagle Sarangani returns to the wild

LOOK: Philippine Eagle Sarangani returns to the wild after its release into the hinterlands of Maitum, Sarangani Province on Monday, June 13, 2022.

Sarangani was turned over to the Philippine Eagle Foundation (PEF) for rehabilitation after a farmer found it trapped in the wild. The eagle underwent rehabilitation for a year and a half at the Philippine Eagle Center in Davao City.

The PEF has partnered with Alsons Power Group’s Sarangani Energy Corporation and Siguil Hydro Power Corporation to ensure the protection of the Mt. Busa Key Biodiversity area in Sarangani Province where a sub-population of Philippine Eagles reside. (Video courtesy of Dennis Salvador / Philippine Eagle Foundation | via Keith Bacongco)
