The Karnataka high court has dismissed petitions filed by a section of Muslim students from the Government Pre-University Girls College in Udupi, seeking permission to wear Hijab inside the classroom. The prescription of school uniform is only a reasonable restriction, constitutionally permissible which the students cannot object to, a three-judge bench of the court further noted. Dr. Tasleem Rehmani, President of Muslim Political Council of India (MPCI) discussed the issue in an exclusive interview conducted by Mohammad Ahmad Kazmi.
कर्नाटक उच्च न्यायालय ने उडुपी के गवर्नमेंट प्री-यूनिवर्सिटी गर्ल्स कॉलेज की मुस्लिम छात्रों के एक वर्ग द्वारा कक्षा के अंदर हिजाब पहनने की अनुमति मांगने वाली याचिकाओं को खारिज कर दिया है। अदालत की तीन-न्यायाधीशों की पीठ ने कहा है कि स्कूल की वर्दी का निर्धारण केवल एक उचित प्रतिबंध है, संवैधानिक रूप से अनुमेय है, जिस पर छात्र आपत्ति नहीं कर सकते। मुस्लिम राजनीतिक परिषद (एमपीसीआई) के अध्यक्ष डॉ. तसलीम रहमानी ने मोहम्मद अहमद काज़मी द्वारा आयोजित एक विशेष साक्षात्कार में इस मुद्दे पर खुल कर चर्चा की।
