A cardiac electric shock device is being installed in the third extension of the Masjid al-Haram to ensure immediate provision of emergency medical aid to those suffering from heart disease in case of need. Scientific research has shown that cardiac shock devices are useful for patients whose heart stops temporarily due to medical reasons. Providing immediate medical assistance to such patients while giving electric shock restores the heart rate which improves their condition. No medical experience is required to use this device but specific and minor trainees can use it well. Hajj and Umrah Peace Task Force personnel, as well as those serving in the third expansion of the Grand Mosque, will be trained to use the device under the trainers of Saudi Red Crescent. In this way, the cardiac electric shock device can be used safely by them in case of emergency.
