Everyone Is Bound by the Results of Their Activities Performed Under the Sway of the Modes of Nature

During our lifetime, we act under the influence of the material nature according to a unique combination of the three material modes, and thus we get a certain type of body according to the will of God and the demigods. This is called the bondage of karma, or karma-bandha. To gain release from this karmic bondage we must perform devotional service to Lord Krishna.
