Fun Fact: did you know that Van Gogh has only sold one painting during his lifetime. He struggled as an artist, and only one person has ever bought his paintings from the time he was alive. Isn't this sad, that is why we as artists or business owners have the responsibility of getting rid of this starving artist mentality so that we can move forward and create a new awareness.
Now this paint is part of a tryptic of the Evil Stepmother of Cinderella and her two daughters and is included in a series called Visions, because they are a group of images and faces that just come to my mind and my purpose after that is to bring them to reality in the most accurate way that I can.
Allude that she had come from a far and exotic place in order to exploit the riches of Cinderella’s father.
The painting is inspired by folk art and the original German Stories of The Brothers Grimm
This painting displays the intense color glazes, with a warm and fiery palette, and soft brushwork that fades into the background and is combined with a popular subject familiar to generations of viewers that grew up with this captivating story.
