Today marks the 40th anniversary of the first test successful test-tube baby, pioneered in Kent.

The process was headed by Patrick Steptoe and Professor Robert Edward, giving birth to Louise Joy Brown, the world's first in vitro fertilisation baby.

IVF is now a widely available method, and is even used by parents on the NHS.

We asked shoppers in Chatham if the treatment should still be free on the National Health Service.
