Pharma bodies urge against waiving COVID vaccine patent protections

Peak pharmaceutical and biotech bodies are urging the federal government not to support an international push to waive patent protections for COVID vaccines. India and South Africa have been spearheading a campaign to make it easier for low and middle-income countries to manufacture and sell cheaper generic copies of vaccines.
